Rodgers - "People talk about the goalscorers we miss, but we definitely missed Jon Flannagan in equal proportion."
I know mate. It would be brilliant if a low key Sturridge, Origi, Ibe, Coutinho combo could take the league by storm.I have been one of those people for the last two years![]()

Whilst I don't think we'll win the league next year with them, as they are all still alittle young, its a group of very talented youngsters. Keep them all fit, especially Sturridge, who knows.I know mate. It would be brilliant if a low key Sturridge, Origi, Ibe, Coutinho combo could take the league by storm.
........... I'm allowed to dream aren't I?![]()
I don't actually know what it will take for us to win the league. Last season was a golden opportunity and we took everyone by surprise. I would like us to do that again and I think taking it by surprise or against all the odds will be the way we do it, eventually. Will that be next year with those players I mentioned, probably not. Add a world class striker and we may come close or closer but I can't see any world class strikers joining us. For all the money we've thrown at it we don't seem to invest in the right areas.Whilst I don't think we'll win the league next year with them, as they are all still alittle young, its a group of very talented youngsters. I think if we were to give them a defence and midfield that allows them to play and of course a star striker to carry the expectation, they could be a future quality group.

You probably said the same this season but actually it wasn't a long way off and could have been secured what, two games ago? Southampton, case in point of progressing by stealth. To win the league requires everything to be right and there's too much to do to even contemplate that for next 5 years minimum. 4th is a long way off imo
True, the owners have long made it known they admire Arsenal's model (the old one). Too bad it only half worked for Arsenal, financial stability yes, Silverware no.
And it only worked as they always qualified for the CL.

I'm just naturally more optimistic maybe
A team can perform beyond the sum of it's parts given the right direction.
The agent has badly advised his client and is approaching this entire debacle like a bull in a china shop.
He's damaging the lads reputation in the process, but the player is patently playing along, so he deserves zero sympathy though.
LFC cancelling the ongoing dialogue means that the players options are now limited, and he might be forced to hand in a transfer request and this will save any 'loyalty' (joke isn't it) payments being made to him by Liverpool as part of his sale.
This is why I don't see Chelsea going all out to get him. He's just not a Mourinho player. He doesn't work hard enough, he gets tired and burnt out. He's a decent player in a decent team with world class players like Suarez and a fit Sturridge. He's not the type you need in a battle though, and that's the difference with Suarez, Gerrard, etc. Can't believe Jose is interested though, as a although he'd be playing with class players like Hazard, Willian, Fabregas and so forth, how impressed will he be by a player who whinges about playing out of position and demands a mid-season summer-break in the Caribbean when 'tired'?
.

In better news, Ibe has signed a 5 year deal.
Unfortunately, Flannagan has agreed a one year extension.
Yeah same mate. He did really well that afternoon. Why is everyone down about Flannagan, a cracking player and part of a good/settled defence last season.
I first watched him in the Goodison derby and was giddy to see him struggle, but boy he proved so many wrong that day
Mmm......not sure. Arsenal are reportedly quite stable financially,so maybe that could happen. Is there any truth in the 'I want back to London' rumour? This is why I don't see Chelsea going all out to get him. He's just not a Mourinho player. Mata was sold cause he doesn't offer enough defensively, neither does Sterling, and this season Chelsea have named an almost unchanged team all season (barring injuries), Hazard must have played almost every league game this season. JM has no time for tiredness, he doesn't even like to rest players when injured. With the league won they still played Costa despite an on going Hamstring problem, which they could have left him out for the last 3 games and given him those extra weeks to recover properly.
Its Citeh or abroad IMO, his agent would like him to go to Arsenal, London based club easier for London based agent, but can't see them competing with Citeh in a bidding war.
