Oh, and the hat trick prior to yesterday's was Iborra, who came on at half-time and scored 3 against Celta Vigo in December 2016. Not that I remembered that, to be honest, memory like a sieve, but the Señora informs me that was the case. The debut game question got her stumped, though. I did manage to find out that this is the first time it has happened in La Liga in 25 years, though. The last time was in 1993, when Romario played his first game in Spanish football (for Barcelona) and bagged a hat trick. Funny thing is, Silva scored more goals in 80 minutes yesterday than he did in the entire of last season in Serie A.

Hadn't realised La Liga were using VAR, Fulhaman. Must have been a bit squeaky when in the first quarter VAR says "NOPE" ..... twice !!

It’s a strange feeling either way actually. Nervousness followed by huge relief if it goes your way and hope followed by elation or dejection if it against you. I think it adds to the game though rather than detracts from it. We won, though and stay in touch with Barcelona who spanked Real Madrid and, much to many Spaniard’s delight given his antics just days before the World Cup started, caused Lopetegui to get on board the Do One express.

Talking of which, how long before Slav is given his ticket? From what I have seen, which is brief highlights from some matches, the defence looks a shambles and with Liverpool coming up soon you must fear a double figure thumping if they play like they did against Cardiff - who, let’s face facts - have championship quality strikers.

Doing okay in Europe, as ever. But is there something wrong with Sevilla at home Fulhaman?

Fourth loss in a row and two wins from their last ten games in LaLiga.

The winter break seems to have been a tipping point for some reason. Did very well up until then and awfully after it. Since then we have only had one victory - a 5-0 romp against Levante and then gone on to draw 1 and lose 3. We are still fifth but only on goal difference from Alaves in 6th and, horror of horrors, Betis in 7th who are just 1 point behind. Real Sociedad, in 8th, play tomorrow (Girona who are not far off the relegation spots) and if they win, which is quite likely, then they move up to 6th behind us on the same points - unless they win by 4 clear goals, in which case their goal difference will be better than ours and they will go fifth.

Reckon you haven't quite got over losing Monchi. Stories around that he's going to join his old friend at the Arsenal. As my son would say, Wicked.

Yes, I heard that. Tell you what, if he did then that would really be something to watch. They worked brilliantly together at Sevilla and there is no reason to suspect it wouldn't happen again - bearing in mind Arsenal have way more money to spend than we do - but then again that was never Monchi's style. Bring them in on the cheap and reasonably unheralded and sell them for a massive profit. Not sure Arsenal fans would like a string of people they have never heard of coming through the marble hall - or whatever the equivalent at the Emirates is - I've only ever flown over it and seen the roof of the stands.

Nothing like a hat trick to lift the spirits Fulhaman. Ben Yedder's first was neat, although the other two may have had a taste of fortune ...

A cracker of a game, just like the weather out here - currently 27 degrees. My personal favourite was his third, where the keeper sprinted way out of his goal only to have Ben Yedder play it in to the net from miles out. Hilarious.
