i must say some of you have been bang on the money so far with rogers... the likes of knackered and phil seem to have him sussed - its one thing getting a team already playing good football playing, another thing changing a style of play.

gotta love the 180 page plan and guaranteed 3 years dai, that gave me a laugh mate. are you actually that detached from reality?

Apparently so!

Swamp. Don't ever - and I mean EVER - put me in the same sentence as Dragon again. <laugh>

Dai the only problem with the 180 page document is hes named it 'plan A'

He is still writing plan B :)

quick question (o/t)

martinez is the mastermind behind your success. i think you'd agree that its one thing tweaking a playing style as sousa and rogers did, one thing to take a team and successfully make a transition to a completely different style....

so why has he been with all due respect struggling around the relegation zone for 3 years?

i appreciate he took over a wigan side which has reigned in the spending since bruce was there but still?

Because he hasn't any defensive tactical nous. Sousa instilled that in the team after he left but at the expense of goals. Rodgers came along and unshackled the forwards but his best move was signing Sinclair who was sensational in the Championship.

Completely agree Knackered. Just imagine Martinez hiring Sousa as his defensive coach. Dream team, they would win the Champions League. Maybe we should plan for post Laudrop. Its only a matter of time before Liverpool have a short list of 12 new managers, with Laudrop 'definitely' not being on the list.

Brenda is the Emperor's New Clothes, the charisma-free David Brent of the football world. He talks in toe curling manager-speak of his "philosophy" and "system" - as if he is some kind of mystical genius and the players just don't quite grasp the wondrous intricacies of his "system".

Yet after no time in charge, the Liverpool squad has been decimated. Under orders to manage on the cheap, their biggest investment is loaned out. There's no goal-scorer, nothing on the bench, no Plan B. Meanwhile, Brenda sits and watches absolutely clueless on the side-lines, perched like a messianic middle-aged PE teacher. The players looked genuinely distressed today. A team of headless chickens managed by a Muppet.

Brenda is a calamitous appointment for Liverpool FC. Absolutely out of his depth. Sinking like a stone. No doubt about it.

Picked this up on my travels, thought it was funny!..............<cheers>

because the American owners has approved his 180 page plan that will take 2-3 seasons to achieve. it is impossible to do what he proposes over night and as long as the owners are happy that he can do it in 3 years then there is more chance in MH getting the sack before Brendan......Im not saying i agree with them by the way....

I think this depends how bad the results are. I don't think they will give him 2-3 years under any circumstances. If they have 1 point after 10 matches, then he will be deemed a failure. If they finish 8th and seem to be improving, then they will keep him. The 2-3 seasons thing is bound to be dependent on things actually going to plan. Also, owners/chairmen have to say hings like that. They are hardly likely to say "We have a new manager and if we lose the first 5 matches he's gone". It just doesn't work like that. Yes, he'll be given time. But only if the club are moving forwards and not backwards.

If they are not comfortably top half at Christmas they'll sack him.
