Apparently sky sports presenter just said rumours of rumblings behind the Liverpool scenes Rogers not happy! Resignation? No I forgot we're talking of no scruples you know who!

The only way he'll walk is if he's come to the realisation he's well out of his depth.

And he is.

Brendan Rodgers said:
"I am disappointed with the scoreline and the goals we conceded," Rodgers said. "I can't fault the players, they have given everything but we have things to work on, needing to keep the ball better and Arsenal did that well in the final period. Giving the ball away has nothing to do with the style of play. There is a long way to go. We should have had a penalty when Luis Suarez was fouled but you need to stick the ball in the net."

Good old Brendan, "can't fault our players" yes nice bit blarney there

IMO:

1) Rodgers (Liverpool fans will tolerate poor performances for only so long)
2) Lambert (Villa underperforming and series of pretty average transfers this summer)
3) AVB (Unable to adapt and not play 2 DMs, players already aren't playing for him just like @ Chelsea)
4) Adkins (He is Neil Warnock 2012/13 reincarnated, the PL is too far)
5) Hughes (QPR have so many new players and will not gel at all, embarking on a run of diabolical performances)

Clear candidates

Could be Sir Alex if the score stays at 2-1.

And one bookie now has BR at 5-1 2nd favorite. Could he really be sacked after only a few games?

Sam will be ok. The west ham fans will hate him but punting the ball into the box for Carroll and cole will keep them up. I can't help but think that villa look poor, so lambert could go - but the chairman has low expectations. So as long as it looks like they could stay up he'll see out the season. Think it will be avb and Rodgers vying for the sack.

Normally they can't do that until jan, otherwise he'd prob done it as soon as the Dempsey thing fell through. He'll be after Owen... And I am betting he's crossing his fingers over drogba.

But what will happen if Caroll is called back to 'puddle? What is Sam going to do then?

Carroll`s on a season long loan, I don`t know if he can be called back, can he? Carroll seems to fit their style really well judjing by yesterday`s game.

If he does stay there for the season Fat Sam will get some good results.

The odds for a certain manager is surely going to shorten after this weekend's results ;) maybe worth a few quid on him before the bookies cotton on

Valley...he has been assured 3 seasons to turn things around, he wont get the sack until then and if he manages to turn things around (and the signs are there already) then he may do it by next season....as long as they stay in the premiership then the owners are happy as they know what they are doing.. the fans will have to lump it and go with the flow for the near future....Brendan job is safer than most in the premiership so dont waste your money....

Goodland you`re right, he`s there until January, at least.

"There are just one or two operational things we need to iron out." - Brenden Rodgers today.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits he would not have allowed Andy Carroll to join West Ham if he had known he would not be able to strengthen his squad - but insists he was not misled by the club's American owners.

Rodgers, who has the option of recalling Carroll from his season long-loan in January, let the England striker leave for Upton Park as he was convinced he would bring in either Clint Dempsey or Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge on loan.

But neither deal materialised, with Liverpool's owners FSG understood to be reluctant to meet Fulham's £6m asking price for 29-year-old Dempsey.

He moved to Tottenham, leaving Rodgers short of resources and denying there were already boardroom tensions with the Americans after the 2-0 home defeat by Arsenal left them without a Premier League win.

Rodgers revealed he had been "very confident" of signing a replacement for Carroll and when asked if he would have sanctioned the move otherwise he said: "No."

Liverpool's manager confirmed he has spoken to the club's owners after the transfer window closed and will hold further talks this week, saying: "There are just one or two operational things we need to iron out."

But Rodgers - who has refused to completely dismiss the prospect of a move for former Liverpool striker Michael Owen - is conscious of the need to bolster his attacking options.

"Any player that I believe can improve the squad I will look at," Rodgers said. "We have got a very, very small squad with some very young players in it. So I can't say no."

Rodgers added: "We all know we needed reinforcements and the players needed help but it's gone now and I can't do anything about it.

"There is no point in me sitting here crying about it wishing we had or we hadn't. There is no doubt the finances here had to be changed. That is the reality. We have lost nine players and brought in three so from a business side the club has done well. What we need to do well for the future now is look after the football business and help the players here."

Asked whether the reality was different from what he was told when he was appointed, he said: "I have to be honest. I wouldn't change it for the world.

"I'm very proud and privileged to lead this club. I always knew it was going to be difficult.

"My fight is to keep the supporters proud and keep the great name of Liverpool going forward. I have made it my life to do that."

Rodgers said: "The owners have been very up front, honest and open with me. There are one or two things to iron out but they haven't misled me.

"I have spoken to the people back in America and had a couple of brief conversations. We will reflect on it again next week on the way forward and hopefully go forward in the January window."

Former Liverpool striker Owen is a free agent while Didier Drogba may also become available as uncertainty surrounds his future at Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

I'm sure that you were told that wouldn't be the case on the 'piddle board Dai and in no uncertain terms too. If they think that he may get sacked why should we think differently?

Surely they can guage the feeling at their club better than you?

because the American owners has approved his 180 page plan that will take 2-3 seasons to achieve. it is impossible to do what he proposes over night and as long as the owners are happy that he can do it in 3 years then there is more chance in MH getting the sack before Brendan......Im not saying i agree with them by the way....
