Which are the 3 games we should win?

Fwiw I think 10 points would see us safe. But god knows where they're coming from - we'd better start with West Ham I suppose.

We stand a good chance vs West Ham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Everton and Swansea. I can honestly see us winning 4 of those and taking a point off the others.

You can see us winning four league games out of 8? That'll take one hell of a turnaround in form. Is Mark Hughes the Messiah...?

Hardly the Messiah - he just plays attacking football rather than containing football. If we go after games we are a totally different team. And that is what I think he will do. If we play like we did in the 2nd half against Wigan when we play West Ham, Bournemouth, Everton and Swansea I think we will win, and Chelsea and Arsenal have their own problems and are beatable. I fail to see why that is such an outlandish claim.

Well it certainly is an outlandish claim. Doesn't mean you're wrong though. We'll know soon enough I guess.

What've we got this weekend then? Palace host Salah. Swansea go to Man Utd. Stoke go to Arsenal. Brighton host Leicester (very good opportunity for them to climb through the escape catch there). And a couple of corkers; six-pointers if ever there were some. So of course, based on this season to-date, expect draws at St James' and the London Stadium, with yet again nothing actually happening.

Tell me about this escape catch...

Important to get at least a point today.
A win would be great...... but anything less than a point would be rather depressing for the squad /club.
Important to keep Spam in the mix; so if all else fails, maintaining a 2pt gap would be far better than still being in bottom three BUT also five point adrift of another competitor.

No, a point simply won't do, given our schedule. We are where we are because we have drawn too many matches where we needed wins. And we really need a win.

A win is what we need, but what we really really don't want is a loss. A draw will mean that we have missed another valuable chance of 3 points, but it will keep WHU just above us. However, what we need to do is play for a win....not play for a draw. A draw is the consolation prize.

I guess the outcome of our game determines what the optimum outcome is for us at St James'. We absolutely cannot afford Huddersfield to increase their lead over us - but in addition, to a lesser extent, if would be nice to close the gap on Newcastle and consequently keep them right in the mix.

Obviously true but I think you've got to concentrate on your own games.
If we can't beat the Spammers then we aren't looking good given our run-in and what will the atmos be like at StM.
If we do then we have 'momentum' for the upcoming games and have to fancy the chances of more points from the home games & Swansea and maybe a more supportive Northam <diva>

I think this game is pivotal (my word for the day) :emoticon-0126-nerd:
