Everton are 7th and realistically can only go up above Arsenal, nobody can catch them and they are in Europe next season what ever happens, I really hope they are up for the game at Swansea and don't play the odd fringe player who the manager wants to look at for next season. What ever happens at that game we can't do much about but its on BT at 5pm, The important thing for us is winning our game and putting that bit of extra pressure on Swansea

I said this on the other thread that Everton must surely fancy their chances of finishing above Arsenal and breaking into the top 6. Arsenal have Man United this week and then Everton on the final day. That last game could determine who finishes 6th and 7th. I'd say they still have plenty to play for.

Why , we would be safe after beating Palace going by that scenario .

Thanks for that - I hadn't really thought that through - I thought it could still go either way at that point - but if I'm working it out right, we could even be troubling West Ham with a win over Palace.

That game is just seeming more and more important.

I think we'll beat Sunderland and Swansea will lose to Everton.

Then Swansea will draw with Sunderland meaning we are safe before we play Palace with a 4 point gap and them having one game left.

I played around with the table calculator someone posted at http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/ and with what I thought were the most likely results I ended up with Palace, West Ham, Swansea and us all on 39 points, and us going down due to goal difference.

I also worked out that actually our match against Palace is key, and if we can beat them then they are going down and Swansea and us are safe, regardless of what happens against Spurs.

Does assume that we provide a regulation mauling to Sunderland tomorrow though. Almost as nervy as Wembley last year.

It's never dull supporting 'ull.

I have Swansea going down on 34 points then us on 38 followed by West Ham on 39
