Just my take on Vydra. He came to us after a serious knee injury that had kept out of the game for a very long time. The first half of the season he looked fantastic, but the second half he had a number of niggling injuries, didn't look very fit to me on the occasions I watched him and seemed to lose a bit of interest when he wasn't scoring for fun. It was round about the time he lost form that his agent started to suggest that he should be setting his sights higher than WFC. Did this have an effect on him? If it did he didn't show any great professional attitude, but maybe he has not been playing long enough to realize that is not the way to carry on.
His potential is great, hence the new contract, but he did have injuries again at the start of his WBA life and found it difficult to get a start when he was fit. His value to the Pozzos has decreased while he has been in the midlands, so it makes sense for them to send him back to us to try and rekindle that spark. If he had an attitude problem when he left us maybe he has learned a lesson, but that is something he must deal with and no coach can get the best out of any player if they don't put 100% in. Lots of guesswork in this as I don't know what has gone on at the training ground in the past.
