It does seem to be doing the rounds and I suppose he might be thinking that he could go to Forest and be sure of a game. We do have quite a number who can play in his position.

However someone claims to have spoken to him Saturday and was told that he had signed. He thought that he was carrying a bit of an injury which is maybe why we haven't seen him.

No news of any signings or loans, suggests to me that the fax machine with it's hot line to the FA is still locked in the safe. ;)

I am actually pleased that Zola hasnt rushed in and brought players without seeing them in training first. Do we all recall when Aidy brought in Junior only to find he was an illegal and Sietes who was the slowest LB ever. I am thinking the annoucement will be like when they told us about 8 back room staff changes at the same time.

It is interesting that Zola is taking a look at all of our current players before deciding on who plays, who stays, who goes, who comes in. Even the likes of Mirfin and Yeates have been been given a pre-season opportunity to impress, though they do not fit the Pozzo brief of players with "development potential" .Only Assombalonga has not been in the pre-season trials. When the dust settles, I would not be surprised to see some of our own younger players go out on loan to continue their development , maybe for the whole season, if Zola decides that have some sale value down the line. That seems to be the Pozzo way.

Players coming in will obviously mainly be loanees, though signing an experienced goalie makes sense as a mentor for Bond.

Zola's expression when asked if Mingoia was his son:

Chris Iwelumo in talks with Preston North End over a transfer from Watford for an undisclosed fee. Zola has told Iwelumo he is free to discuss terms with the Lancashire club and it is hoped a deal can be done before Saturday.
Only got a year left on his Watford deal - so a nice kiss off from Watford and a 2 year contract - he will be happy to sign. Watford not looking for much of a fee either. He left the Ireland training camp this morning and flew to Manchester - so something is happening - either PNE or United !

<applause> Thanks for pointing out my shortfalls Vic, I did actually notice but I thought the grammar Nazi's might miss it;)

No jokes about Nazis please.......

"Shortfalls" is putting it a bit strongly. If you did notice it then why not change it - wouldn't have taken 2 secs. I know you youngsters don't think it matters, but it does.

At the end of a long day Vic and I am not a youngster, far from it.........................just to lazy to correct it;)

But now if you look it has been corrected!

Don't take this too personally, Al. I was reading somewhere that people pointing out grammatical errors on fora such as this has done more for the general improvement of written English than anything else in the last 25 years. Of course that comment excludes a certain school not far from Aberdeen.

I realise that many people on this forum might consider my remarks on grammar to be petty. However, I was brought up on the teaching that if a person is careless over grammar, then there's a strong possibility that person will be careless over facts or opinions.

Just as if the Daily Mail gets the most obvious facts about a football match wrong on the back page (as it frequently does - especially when reporting on a Watford match), then heaven help the accuracy on the (some would say) more important front page.

It's just the way I am.....(I like brackets BTW)

Surely then Vic you should not use abbreviations? As that is very lazy grammar wise, is it not?
