Kevin Affleck to be appointed new chairman of Luton FC. First task to cause as much unrest and speculation as possible amongst WFC Players staff and supporters. Even if what he says has truth the way he's going about this is self serving twattery....If he knows either put up or shut up!! Claiming he's vindicated when any news comes out of the vic whether its related to his rumour mongering or not. Next time I'm in Dubai I'd like to greet him with a glasgee kiss!!!!

He was apparently put up for transfer because he turned down the chance to become the clubs highest earner, so would his attitude be right?? and would he want to stick to <£5,000 p/w?? Also, he is nothing special, definitely not worth £500,000 AND Yeates.

Up to a point I see where you're coming from. He comes across as pretty arrogant, and he does strike me as someone who would take credit for something he only half knew. But you can't seriously be accusing the person who pretty much lost his job for exposing the situation four years ago of feigning knowledge?

If you go down the hostile bid route, then Baz trying to get his money together and saying he will start the SW corner does make sense.

Most of that ties in with the theory that the bidder will exploit a technicality in the takeover agreement.
 
At the time that Affleck was at the WO, I did not enjoy his style of journalism, thinking that he was simply stirring up trouble and was too big for his boots. However he was following in the footsteps of OP who always had a great rapport with the club and fans, except of course when Ashton had him banned from the ground. He clearly could not hope to reproduce the same style as Ollie, so stepped out in his own way.

After he exposed what was going on in the Simpson/Ashton era, he was described as a good investigative reporter by OP, an opinion that he holds still today. I cannot believe that a Watford fan, and Affleck is one of them, would go out of his way to put lots of stuff on the web that was just a flight of fancy, and would create trouble within the club. To my mind he is saying what he can without putting someone's job in danger, in fact I could hazard a guess at who it might be, but then I could not say for the same reason.

@Alfiesballs Just reconfirmation that club will be taken off LB by bond holders and sold on. Should be developments soon.
 
Yes, seems true this one - good luck to him. Does this mean we have someone lined up to come in whose better?
 
Good to have you back Al, if this is right you are ahead of the official site and WO. Still the news coming out of the club has been almost deafening in it's silence.

Affleck is saying that the deal to take over the club is very complex, but something needs to happen soon for the good of it.
