Scott Loach in talks with Ipswich,although it depends on whether Watford can bring in the replacement they are negotiating with. Loach would cost £350,000 with add-ons

Leeds boss Neil Warnock is expected to add four names to his summer transfer list after completing the deal for Portsmouth defender Jason Pearce last week.
Nottingham Forest skipper Luke Chambers is subject of a undisclosed bid from United and could sign a three year deal before the weekend.
Secondly, Watford forward Joe Garner is close to signing a two year deal after Championship rivals Leeds had a £170,000 bid accepted for the former Nottingham Forest player.
Another striker very close to signing is 21 year old attacker Darren Mattocks from Vancouver Whitecaps. The youngster is thought to be the next big thing in the MLS and could sign a four year deal with Warnock's side.
Finally, Charlton midfielder Dale Stephens is subject of a £300,000 bid from United and could sign a three year deal after impressing Warnock during winning promotion to the Championship from League 1.

Preston have released 14 players, 7 have been put up for transfer, and three loanees sent back to their parent clubs.

Danny Mayor has expressed a desire to leave, but is not on the transfer list.

Well Mariappa is going to leave. It's just a matter of who stumps up the most cash. Deeney to millwall or Colchester???? Really????!!!!! Scott loach seemed intent on staying but if Ipswich coughing up 700k means we somehow get Kusack then au revoir.

Oh gawd, please no. Impressive international career though - subbed at half time in England C's 1-3 loss to Gibraltar last year. <laugh>

The rumour about James Collins from Shrewsbury still persists - anyone know anything about him?

My inital thought:................... He's probably better than Garner.

My second thought:................... sign him then loan him back to Luton, they would LOVE that wouldn't they! <devil>

Mark Yeates!!! He was signed as a winger but is slower than the glaciers, he is meant to be a free kick specialist but is being beaten by an 18yr old!! He is meant to be able to take corners, but cannot get it anywhere within the 6yrd box. At least Garner has scored and had shots on target.

Yeates got 3 goals and 9 assists last season. Garner got 1 goal and no assists.
 
Yeates looks poor in comparison to the three current/future Premier League players we've had out wide this season (Murray, Kightly and Alex).

Garner looks poor in comparison to the Championship level players we've had up front this season (Deeney, Iwelumo, and Sordell who has hardly had a sniff at Bolton).

EDIT: Sordell will be a fully fledged Premier League player one day, but he isn't there just yet.
 
Preston are in for Yeates according to a Preston fan on a different site. A swap deal with right winger Danny Mayor plus cash. I.E we give them Yeates plus say 200k for Mayor.
 
The Preston fan on this site (there's only one) seems pretty confident that they're in for Yeates.

I think he'd have to think carefully about that. The whole being unhappy at not being picked business has almost certainly been blown out of proportion, but Graham Westley strikes me as the type who would come down like a tonne of bricks on someone who even briefly looked as though they weren't 100% happy with his decisions.
 
Westley does 3 training sessions a day (information from an interview with a Stevenage player about a month or two before GW left) - can you imagine Yeates accepting that?

I can see him being ok with that. Having watched several training sessions i can say they are not exactly walks in the park. They get to UCL at about 8:30-9 and are out on the pitch by 9:30 they then train till 12/12:30. Every session i have seen had involved a practice match of some sort, be it 5-on-5 or 11-on-11. And all the players say that they are physical and tough.
