Sky Sports understands Watford are poised to sign Fulham midfielder Alex Kacaniklic on loan.

Kacaniklic, who joined Fulham from Liverpool in the summer of 2010, has yet to make a senior appearance for the Cottagers since arriving at the club.

The 20-year-old has been a regular member of Fulham's development squad and he is highly-rated within the corridors of Craven Cottage.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is happy to loan out Kacaniklic so that he can get some valuable first-team experience under his belt.

Watford chief Sean Dyche has been looking to bolster his squad and he sees Kacaniklic as a key addition to his squad with the Swede set to join the Hornets until the end of the season.

It's done. And the moral of the story is... Sky Sports run Fulham Football Club.

The EJ bit is interesting. When did Sir Elton become an aircraft?

Sky Sports understands Watford and Peterborough are chasing Aldershot defender Anthony Straker.

Straker has established himself as one of the best players in the lower leagues with a number of impressive performances.

The Grenada international has made over 150 appearances for Aldershot and has established himself as one of the leading full-backs in League Two.

Scouts have been flocking to the The EEB Stadium to cast an eye over Straker and the full-back could only have impressed with both goals in Saturday's win over AFC Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old is in the final six months of his contract and has yet to agree an extension, alerting Watford and Peterborough.

Aldershot would be loathe to lose Straker, but they would find it hard to resist a big-money offer for the player if any of his suitors firm up their interest before the close of the transfer window.

That was Ed Straker. Signing Nick Straker would be a walk in the park.

Someone is getting over excited: 30 Jan 2012 12:55:03 Watford have signed Fulham Winger Alex Kacaniklic from Fulham on loan for the rest of the season.

I wonder if the poor fellow comes from Fulham?

Brendan Rodgers still wants to add to his Swansea squad before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.

The Swans have already brought in Rory Donnelly, Darnel Situ, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Josh McEachran.

Rodgers says he still wants to add "one or two" new faces, but has denied reports linking him with moves for Matthew Bates, Adrian Mariappa and Nicky Maynard.

He said: "We made enquiries for a number of players early in the window and, like with many clubs, it has gone quiet, but then we have had feedback on one to two possibilities and we will see.

"There is still a lot of work to do if they are to become permanent signings, but we will see over the next 24 hours and take it from there.

"We have certainly made no bids as yet but we have been given an indication of what the price would be."

Sky are reporting Wigan have had a bid for #WatfordFC defender Adrian Mariappa turned down and Newcastle United are hoping to sign him today

1104: More news from S****horpe - manager Alan Knill has told BBC Humberside sports editor Matt Dean that they're waiting on a decision from Watford about whether defender David Mirfin can rejoin the League One club on loan.

Think if it this way. Newcastle have a fully established pair of CBs and Mapps would just be cover till the end of the season. But Rogers would be more likely to use him in his first team as he knows his quality and what he is capable of.
