since the appointment of mark hughes there may not be a place for tommy smith in the starting 11, sources suggest smith will return to his previous club watford till the end of season.

David Cotterill, who has been released by Swansea, will be in talks with Watford tomorrow. Cotterill was aware of his situation in South Wales several days before his release, and agreed to enter talks with Watford earlier this week. Watford are looking for someone to replace Michael Kightly, who has returned to Wolves.

Sordell today linked with West Ham, Fulham and Southampton

Sainst friend of mine has also said they have bid £5m for Gary Hooper at Celtic, so maybe if that is unsuccessful, they will turn to Marv
 
Not being funny, but Watford are playing a higher standard of football against better opponents than Hooper is week in week out. MS is far better IMO considering the opposition<yikes>

Rhodes. Sky Sports report WHU have made
offers for Jamie Mackie at QPR and Marvin
SOrdell from Watford, both good young
forwards with lots of pace. Believed £4m would get the pair of them but Hughes has put
temporary hold on mackie deal which was
close to completion and should still be done
by end of Jan, as should Jimmy Kebe deal
 
BBC rumours page picking up (from the Sun) alleged £2m for Sordell by West Ham. If true completely derisory offer and big sam should be treated with the contempt that offer deserves.
 
I got the rumours from somewhere else, but did see the £2m bid in the Sun. I fully expect that to be rejected, and will take at least £3.5m plus clauses to get him - but then everyone goes in with a 'starting offer' just to try it on!

I can't see Marv being here at the end of Jan, but if he does go, would prefer it to be to a Prem team!
 
So if he does go, who takes over? Our listed strikers are Deeney, Iwelumo, Garner and Massey. Can Deeney and Iwelumo create a good partnership? Are we going to be able to bring in a suitable replacement within the transfer window? Could one of our midfielders be pushed forward?

No idea myself, so will leave it to you guys to come up with the answers??

You'd like to think they are looking at alternatives if Marv does go. If he is going to go, you just hope we can do business sooner rather than later... or not at all. Not sure what is out there available, but with the new regime at QPR, are Smith and H realistic targets?! As much as Warnock liked H, maybe Hughes won't and will want to bring in 'big names'.

Looks like West Ham wont be signing Rhodes now as Big Sam has admitted defeat in the race to sign him due to interest from prem clubs.

Apparently Maedo wont be offered a contract at the club due to an unimpressive trial at the club (not the worst news I've heard as West Ham could do with some strikers under 30)

Big Sam is now focused on signing a striker after signing Geroge John on loan. Possible Targets :

1. Jonathan Soriano (Barca B)
2. Kris Commons (Celtic)
3. Kevin Davies (Bolton - I hope not, he's not the same player of late)
4. Marvin Sordell (Watford)
5. Bobby Zamora (Fulham - Unlikely as he and Jol have seemed to make amands)
6. Yannick Sagbo (Evian - Half-brother of Guy Demel)

Watford are in desperate need of a new winger and the hornets want QPRs Tommy Smith for a loan to the end of season. Marvin Sordell is wanted by many clubs and Watford will accept deals over £4million, and with that money they may get Bury striker Andy Bishop for £1million.

if sordell leaves the hornets dyche has lined up replacements and other targets with consists of jason puncheon 2million pounds (southampton),lee novak 600,000 pounds (huddlesfield) hogan emprhim (qpr) 975,000 pounds. sordell in posied to to bag watford a tidy 5 million with sell-on fee.


Puncheon worth 2m since when their desperate to get rid 1m will easy get him
