24 Jul 2013 16:30:08 Watford will benefit from the Pozzo scouting network this week, with the signing of Flamengo's teenage midfielder Adryan. It's also believed they are looking to tie up a deal for Internacional youngster Otavio. Although they will initially join the Watford squad, they will have the option to sign for Watford's parent club Udinese at the end of the season, should they impress.
@WatfordTalk: Cristiano Giaretta, Sporting Director of Udinese has apparently confirmed that Essaid Belkalem will be joining Watford. #WatfordFC
Transfer Tweeter ‏@TransferTweeter 1h #watfordfc are interested in signing #manutd leftback Alexander Buttner on a season loan Interesting if true...
From the Rumours website 28 Jul 2013 23:43:34 Watford are set to complete their transfer dealings with the captures of Goalkeeper Lee Camp on a one-year deal (free transfer) and Andile Jali of Orlando Pirates. It's unclear whether Jali, a midfielder, will join Watford directly, or on loan via Udinese. Camp signed last night Former Watford man Whichelow on trial at Bristol Rovers. Info on Jali - current Sth Africa international. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andile_Jali
Would happily take Camp on a free. Would then like to send out Bond to get first team experience, with a 24-hour call-back Don't know too much about this Jali guy... Thought we might be on the look out for another LWB with Romero not staying... but then we do have Anya who can play both sides, and at RWB with Faraoni and Cassetti being able to play there as well
Found on the Rumours site: ...Gianluca Nani, our director of football, was reportedly telling people at the Watford Open Day today that we are only signing Belkalem, a third choice keeper and another midfielder. So if the Camp/Jali rumour has any truth, that may be it for now....
I'm not sure why we would need another central midfielder given who we already have (Abdi, Ireney, Hogg, McGugan, Battochio, Smith, maybe Murray) but I suppose its only a rumour for now.
Vital Watford ‏@VitalWatford Belkalem in London & set to join us, says @Udineseblog & @EmaGiulianelli #WatfordFC Emanuele Giulianelli ‏@EmaGiulianelli Steve Beleck: "Vydra will remain at Udinese" http://wp.me/p2WJnD-bj #WatfordFC Emanuele Giulianelli ‏@EmaGiulianelli Andile Jali and #Watford? Not coming in on loan... Emanuele Giulianelli ‏@EmaGiulianelli 28m +++ News: Belkalem will sign as a definitive transfer, not on loan by #Watford +++
One definitely not coming - Jaime Romero has joined Spanish club Castilla and another maybe not coming (who knows, really..) Vydra rumoured to be close to signing for the Hammers. http://www.europacalcio.it/news/udinese-vicina-la-cessione-di-vydra-al-west-ham-20879.html

A host of the Premier League's big guns are keeping tabs on Watford hit-man Troy Deeney. Sky Sports understands several Premier League sides are tracking Deeney as they look to bolster their attacking options before the close of the transfer window. Deeney, who scored 20 goals last season, is regarded as one of the best strikers outside the Premier League. The 25-year-old has picked up where he left off last season, scoring Watford's winner in their 1-0 victory over Birmingham on the opening weekend of the season. Deeney's form over the last 12 months has seen him come to the attention of a number of top Premier League sides who are ready to make a move. Watford boss Gianfranco Zola is a huge admirer of Deeney and has previously admitted the player could play in the Premier League. Watford would be loath to lose their star striker, but they are aware they could face a fight to keep hold of him if any of his Premier League suitors come calling for him.
Most of the teams that could be interested like West Ham and Norwich have brought strikers. The Pozzos have their price but I am sure Zola will say he is the key forward player - after all could you see anyone else getting 20 plus goals for us? Also we'd need to ensure we keep enough British players in the squad...
