I was on the picket line (nowhere near the action) on 22 June 1977, the big day. Just finished my O levels. Not sure if I really understood what was going on. Didn’t end too well for workers solidarity, but I think quite important to see white men protesting for the rights of immigrant Asian women, might have been a first.
Very impressed that you were there, I never joined. My now wife (I wasn't going out with her until after the strike) appears very briefly at about 6.44 mins in the programme. She was a sales rep, so nothing really to do with the strikers, but had to drive through the picket line sometimes to get to the office. Yes, a scab.
George Ward was an utter ****. I met him a couple of times when I was made to go to Christmas dos. I like to think I conveyed my contempt.
If anyone hasn’t seen In Bruges, one of my favourite fillums, here’s a summary

It's very good, but not in the same league as In Bruges imo. It will win something at the Oscars though !I've always wanted to see it, but never have. I'll get my son the case.
The new film by Martin McDonagh, The Banshees of Inisherin, is getting rave reviews and winning awards. That sounds like a must-see too.
My son has seen The Banshees. Very good, dark humour, but not a patch on In Bruges according to him. The McDonagh film that won big was Three Billboards, which was brilliantly acted, but left me pretty cold.I've always wanted to see it, but never have. I'll get my son the case.
