Private tonight where she gets finally laid to rest with Phillip
I bet he can't wait to get out of the uniform and climb into bed.Yeah, private ceremony at half 7 where the Queen and Philip will be laid to rest.
I would like to think he's climbing into a few drinksI bet he can't wait to get out of the uniform and climb into bed.
And me...almostKirsty completely losing it
They all do tbh, everyone involved in the whole ceremony. If most of the military peoples' duties are done for the day, I bet the pubs of London are about to get very busy indeed.I would like to think he's climbing into a few drinks
She was our Queen and the World decided she was their Queen.
What an incredible spectacular display of pomp and ceremony this nation has shown the rest of the World.
RIP your Majesty
Great post mate, we’ve been glued to the telly all day. What a fantastic, dignified display of pride and unity. Both my wife and I are currently in Crete but today was not a day to sit next to the pool or be sat on the beach.
We watched the main service at Westminster with a bunch of other Brits in a common room. Not a word murmured...it was incredible to be part of that group who we don't know nor did we speak to (we will later).
My missus and I spent the rest of the afternoon in our room watching the ceremony together. Emotional to the end but the bagpiper finally got me....he was incredible. We will head out tonight to raise a glass.
Rest in peace your Majesty. Long live the King
Very moving.
Apart from the sadness of the occasion it actually made me feel incredibly superior and proud ...
... there isn't a country in the world who could better that.
When the Queen's piper walked into the sunset it was magical.
Today was the perfect send off and the eyes of the world were on the UK. Other than a few online posts Trevor Sinclair esc like. I felt very proud to be British. A phrase that has seemingly became dirty and taboo over the years. Huge mention for the 8 men that carried the coffin. Eyes of the world on them and they never put a foot wrong.
I could hardly watch as they were going up the steps to St George' Chapel...imagine how they felt with 4 billion people watching around the world. Those lads deserve a medal![]()
The BBC coverage was very very good today, minimal commentary which helped the occasion in my opinionJust watched Kirsty Young again - what a fitting finish that was - the BBC has its critics but its presenters have been very good
