I like Godfrey, and I think in time he could prove to be a great signing for Everton. But I'm liking the thought of us taking Everton on next week with a CB playing RB.

I think Pickford should have been allowed to clatter into him at least 10 times harder. So hard in fact, he slid all the way to Brighton to clatter into that other ****.

They’ve just shown it again (and I think they’ll show it at least once more at 1/2 time) - would be interesting to get your view, Tom.
Was a bad tackle and could well have been red if play was live. However like Brendy said you can't send someone off for serious foul play when the ball is dead.

Fair enough. Pickford scythed Virgil down with a potential leg-breaker which resulted in VVD going off, but Pickford escaped any sanction simply because Van Dijk was offside. Doesn’t seem right to me.

Edit: Thanks Brendy, I see the distinction but as you say it doesn’t really seem fair. My view has always been that if you injure a player enough for them to have to go off, you should also go.

Just watched a replay of Pickfords challenge on VVD......red card for me, and surly a foul is a foul regardless of offside.
@tomw24 do you know what the rule is?

Should probably be changed that. And probably will seeing as Liverpool were the ones stitched up by it.
