Never seen the problem with it personally. People only started noticing when players made the hand gesture, always happened whenever I played with players saying to the ref rather than gesturing
I really dislike players asking me to book someone else. Just no need for it. And I tend to not book them when someone does that to make a point.
That's poor reffing tbh. If it's booking worthy then you should do it on that basis and not be influenced because the other team has annoyed you.
I can understand why people ask the question in certain situations where there's one player commiting constant fouls.
Yeah but it hardly ever is. If it's a yellow I get my book out before they ask so they don't get the chance to ask for a yellow.
Yeah reminds me of the classic “you went down too easy” or “he didn’t touch you” when someone lunges in. Doesn’t matter if I went down easily or not, was it a foul or wasn’t it? And do you want me to not jump out of the way and risk breaking my ankle just to win a free kick?
Salah is the type of player who you can forgive for doing very little for most of a game, just for a moment magic like that.
