I'll reserve judgment on Ranieri until such time as he has something resembling a defense. I don't think the fault lies with him that they've been on pace to threaten the all-time-high in goals surrendered per game under two managers.
Like I say, he needs to be at a club where he can win things before he is mentioned in the same breath as SAF and Wenger.
