That proves what I was saying all last season. Referees had a very small impact on where we were in the table.

Not strictly true.

Alonso should have been red carded in the home league game v Chelsea. He wasn't and then directly set-up 3 goals.

I'm sure there were others, but I can't really be arsed to check.

The handball at Watford cost us 2 points, the Burnley handball which cost us a point, the extended injury time at city until they scored the winner........there is 4 points without even thinking about it too hard.

So we'd have been just four points, and two places, better off.

But arguably more importantly, we'd still have finished the same points difference above the relegation zone - three points.

Ultimately we were worse off, because of the extra prize for each place. But hardly anything to shout about.

PS. Huddersfield's situation is an illustration of why I kept on saying last season that the issue of whether a club has been lucky or not when it comes to referees, is bigger than just that club's decisions. Huddersfield finish on 37 points regardless; they're unchanged. But they finished two places higher than they arguably should have done, thanks to refereeing decisions against us and Stoke. So whilst they haven't been advantaged or disadvantaged from their own matches, they have been (advantaged in this case) from other teams matches.

Im actually excited to watch this game even though it’s united Leicester, I love football. Leicester got a pretty good team going forward, a number of players I’d have wanted at saints
