FT: Leicester 0-1 Man Utd. Sounds like it was a pretty dull game with a shtonne of yellows for not much and Leicester missing all their chances.
City score three goals in the most ruthless fashion. Winger played in behind, squares it, teammate has tap in. They do this better than anyone in the league and it’s probably the most effective way to score goals in football at the moment.
He's back in full training. Returned earlier this week, but not selected today. Came too soon, I think.
Paul Ince. Now there's something to raise a smile about this morning! 'I caused a bit of a stir over the weekend when I said I could have done what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done at Manchester United, but let me explain a bit more. I am not just a pundit who has never managed a club - I have managed in the Premier League and all four English professional divisions, so no-one can say I don't know what I am talking about here. My argument was that it was easy for whoever came in after that to right the ship, and lift the players and the dressing room - and put the whole club back on track. When I said anyone could have come in and done the same, I did not mean to be disrespectful to Ole.' Oh really Paul, because it comes across as really disrespectful to me! I doubted OGS ability to handle and raise that dressing room, but I was wrong, he has done a fantastic job. (still might not be enough to secure the position mind) But I certainly wouldn't have suggested that anyone could have gone in there and got the same response. What a berk. Still thinks the top job is waiting around the corner for him!
I do get what he means in a way...United were underperforming and were capable of more...they just needed dusting down. How would Solksjaer have done at a team like Saints....that would be far less certain. However, United have done exceedingly well, so OGS must have brought something to the table that someone like Ince probably hasn't got. Solksjaer is obviously the right man for the job this season....be interesting to see what happens in the summer. Will be almost impossible for the board to replace him as he is a real fans' favourite, but they may have their eye on someone else and thought Ole would just be decent in the interim. Nice dilemma to have though.
I get that. But the arrogance of the man. What has he done, seriously. He talks himself up constantly and never backs it up. I can't stand him as a pundit, let alone managing a team. (ok pompey, you can have him!)
