I wouldn’t get your hopes up about a heavy defeat meaning the end for Pellegrino - the board don’t want to act. He could’ve gone after the Burnley home game (only 1-0 defeat granted), certainly after the 4-1 defeat to Leicester, or Spurs 5-2 thumping on Boxing Day, but he survived. Plus, we threw away leads against Huddersfield, Palace and Watford, and still nothing.

Totally clueless in my eyes.

Oh I wouldn't expect it to necessarily mean the end, there and then. But push him closer to the end.

God knows how many nails in the coffin are required, but a thumping defeat would at least hammer a few more in.

I too am expecting a thumping. So do I bother driving from Bournemouth to the game or do what I did for the Palace game and watch it from the comfort of my warm home - especially as I am going away with work the next day?

**** me all the way from Bournemouth and there's me hoping the passion of our fans might start to help the team.
Oh well.

I hope the fans support the team next week but once the game is inevitably lost I hope feelings are made clear to the board.

Indeed. Vital that we support the team, and give them every chance to get something against Spurs. But if we're 3-0 down with 15 minutes to play, I'm more than happy for the banners to come out etc. Especially with the game being on TV. If the board aren't going to do this themselves... (And I do keep on reading that we got Puel sacked, so we clearly have the power...)

I'm expecting us to lose to Spurs anyway. So 0-4 is better than 0-1, in terms of pushing MP closer to the door.

I was slightly annoyed that our late flourish at Wembley last month made the scoreline look better for MP.

Apart from goal difference could be important. I never want us to lose no matter what the consequences could be, but if some must want a defeat, please only 1-0

The way I see it, the board aren't going to act, it may be upto the support to force their hand.

If people want to protest then that is their right, I guess.

However, I can't see what they can possibly hope to achieve doing it while the team are on the pitch. This squad of players is still trying, that much is evident. They are playing without confidence, and they might not be good enough. The fans (football geniuses to a man) are convinced the manager isn't good enough, and they're probably right - this time. However, holding up banners, booing, negative chanting etc, won't help the team play better. Supporting them just might.

If people are determined to protest, why can't they wait until after the final whistle, then stage a sit in at the ground? That would of course be tricky if they are same people who are just getting on the M3 when the final whistle blows.

Agree. As I say, a bigger defeat should push MP closer to the door. That doesn't mean I want it.

Indeed, I'd take the worst 0-0 draw in history and MP keeping his job for another week, over losing and MP losing his job.

I agree in general but I'm talking final ten minutes if we're two or three down, it's not gonna negatively impact the result but it might just achieve something to positively impact the rest of our season.

We're not organised enough for a sit in protest either... And don't think it's what's required anyway.
