Fonte still upset about how he is portrayed. I do understand that as he had a close relationship with Saints, but did anyone say he refused to train. We saw him in training videos, so we knew he was training. I don't understand about him being so concerned about whether he put in a transfer request....isn't asking to leave the same as putting in a formal request....except the latter may affect your pay off. I'm not upset anymore....I can see that he would want to get one last good deal at his age. It's a shame it unravelled as it did. He has got over the worst with an appearance at St Marys....and that didn't go too badly for him, did it? You can't have it all ways...you can be a hero to a club or you can be pragmatic and move on. A few have managed both, but that was usually because we could see the money was to our benefit. The thing about being greatly loved is that the fall is greater. Fact of life.

Having looked at Rule 15 of the Laws of the Game, it clearly says that players wearing red and white stripes are not allowed on the field of play unless they are registered with Southampton Football Club.

This is going to sound awful but, sometimes I wish Saints didn't play in red and white stripes. Here's the skewed logic:
1] nobody wins anything in red and white stripes
2] we inevitably get ourselves associated with Stoke and Sunderland. Mediocre clubs. When we were in the lower leagues it was Exeter and Lincoln [tbh, I didn't mind that so much].
3] every manufacturer makes such ****ty looking kits for us.

There I've said it.

Funny old lot footballers. As you say he's got more money/longer contract at WHU, does not have the derision hurled at him that Lallana has, just no longer idolised here. I almost get the feeling he's a bit miffed Man U didn't rush in with a three year contract and blames us? We did ok out of him, he was bloody well paid and became a Euro winner, move on.

Mings and Ibrahimovich been charged by FA.
I don't think Mings meant it. Nobody is going to stamp on someone's head with a football boot**. Ibrahimovich meant it.

**Actually, I wouldn't have put it past Roy Keane. Or Cantona. Or Ben Thatcher. Or... actually there are a few I can think of now. OK, just scrub the 'nobody'.

TSS, they were at each other all game. Ibrahimovic shoved Mings to the ground at one stage, they were mouthing off to each other all game. Mings meant it.

Well I must admit I only saw highlights, so fair enough if you're talking about provocation.

Mings is an ex-Saint Academy too, isn't he.? Dear oh dear, you might have expected better.

1] Athletico Madrid
2] Fair point
3] Refer to point 1.

If the referee didn't see the elbow then, then what was he talking to Zlatan about for so long?!

Bmouth's next three games includes our home game against them. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing though. I don't particularly rate Mings as a PL defender.
