Can't decide if Mings intended to tread on Zlatan, but Rooney kneeling up in front of him, with Mings' knee seeming to brush his back as he tried jumping over Zlatan, could be mooted as a defence, as in he had to adjust where he put his foot down, owing to his balance being affected. :bandit:

I dunno about big look personally, maybe in slow motion but I think it was just a glance really and then he's gone into a big awkward leap over two players with Rooney getting up making it hard for him to set off from his right leg and looked back towards the ball as he takes off. Maybe it's because I didn't catch the game and am just viewing it in isolation, but to me it looks actively difficult for him to do that deliberately so I can only give him the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe you're right, I only saw clips too. Put another way, I'd be annoyed if one of our players did that. I think the FA will do him for it (probably only 3 games though). Never mind.

(I'd make a point about video replay officials here but it's been done 1000 times before)

Agree with this. It just looks like an unfortunate (maybe clumsy) mistake to me. Certainly not a clear stamp. I almost did the same thing this morning trying to step over my 2 year old nephew.

Still fairly early, but it's beginning to get the feel that the current bottom three (Boro, Hull, Sunderland) will be the bottom three come the end of the season. Back-to-back wins for Big Sam, with clean sheets in each. He's taken his time, but it's finally starting to come good.

To be replaced by Newcastle, possibly Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday/Leeds although that is to do a disservice to Huddersfield and Reading. Not quite a geographical balance as it stands but possibly Bournemouth will slip and allow one of the current 3 to escape.

Watching this (Liverpool v Arsenal) on Russian TV as I am in Yekaterinburg for the next 3 and half weeks. Everything OK apart from my suitcase going missing somewhere between Barcelona and here.

I said only a few games back when someone posted they were going down after a Palace loss, that Sam always needs several games to get his message across. I don't like him or his style, but he is good at coaching a team to do what he wants. I find it odd that so many people don't seem to understand that these things take time.

I've just started a new job where I have a new team and lots of things to put right. My boss has said he isn't expecting instant results and expects me to work towards having things looking right by the end of the year. It's only normal for his to be expected, so why in football do so many people think that someone can walk in and get it right instantly.

Same for Claude.

Claude is a very under-stated and under-estimated manager. It appears that he is a listener, taking on board good advice as well as being a very astute and intelligent man. When the flak was flying in his direction after the EL exit, subsequent results demonstrated his coolness.

Good result for Bournemouth, wanted Utd to win but fair play they defended superbly

Remember when we couldn't beat a 10 man Stoke team earlier in the season? People said we should have done better than draw as if it's a foregone conclusion that when a team goes a man down they are going to lose. Even Man Utd found out today that it's never easy and they were at home.
