Highly unlikely if it was seen by the match officials (which it would have been, whether by the referee or the VAR).
If you can take a second look at that and decide its not a red, what is the point. Doesn't matter if he connected or not, should be a straight red for intent imo.
What have I just seen?! Completely agree with you and the above comments. Apparently this is the best Football league in the world, yet the standard of refereeing and VAR decision-making is the talking point every week. The game is an absolute mess!
Chatting to one of my Brighton mates - he thinks Joao Pedro is off in Jan. Says his attitude has been terrible recently.
I noticed that. Every set piece they had arms around the Arsenal players and were pushing into them. On one corner an Arsenal player tried to run along the goal line, between the posts, and Davis had both arms around him and forced him behind the goal line and into the net. It’s ludicrous that the officials do nothing about it. It’s the same thing when the ref sees two players tussling before a set piece is taken. He generally stops the kick from being taken and talks to the players when he should let the game continue and penalise whichever player he sees committing a foul.
Jao Pedro has gone down with a really nasty head injury. Funny that, after he tried to swing for the fences the other day!
Saints might be totally crap but Manure are trying really hard to be worse. Just seen Ipswich penalty. Delap should apologise to the fans for that theatrical swallow dive. Totally appealing refereeing.
Was there any contact? Can’t see any from that angle but if there was any it seemed to be less than the contact on Rambo at Palace.
**** me. Cassamero and Martinez for a start arnt fit to wear that Man U shirt. Absolutely shocking how they get to play for them.
