Went to the Olympic stadium for the rugby last year - was totally unimpressed with the lack of atmosphere, view and general ambience of the place. The only decent thing about it was the reasonable distance to the local mall (mentioned earlier I think - can't remember the name) where one could get some decent scran and a beer ....... But Old Farmhouse, it wasn't
Have to say that I've have been very impressed by the London Olympic Stadium whenever I have seen events being televised. Both the Olympics and the recent Anniversary Games captured some of, what appears to be, a very good atmosphere that the stadium seems capable of producing. Some stadiums are dead whatever the noise in them, and some come alive given the circumstance. I suspect this stadium may be one of the latter. You were impressed by the stadium, Ides. Anymore to say about it from that point of view.?
Do West Ham still come out to "We're forever blowing bubbles" or do they now have their own version of the Village People's song "HMRC, we're sponsored by HMRC"
pretty dumb that Oumar Niasse has not been given a number by Everton, he has only taken part in 4 or 5 games since his 13 mil arrival, but that's small change to them now and they have to be looking for the world class players
Ides could right a 1000 page book about anything and it wouldn't answer the three main questions you wanted on whatever the topic was. However it would still probably be one of the best and funniest books you'd ever read and you'd be looking out for his next offering. #dont'tdisides
The acoustics in the stadium are fabulous. Irons fans arrived, well aware that the Arsenal fans at the Emirates are generally quite quiet so they let it be known that they were not going to be like Arsenal fans so gave the "I'm forever blowing bubbles" the full rendition as the two teams emerged onto the pitch. Thereafter their songs were rather limited, They managed to produce less variation than either Saints or Pompey. I would say getting a ticket in the upper tiers behind the goals leaves you a long way from the pitch (25m), Lower tiers are OK. You will find the usual stalls outside the stadium for burgers or a pork bun. Fish and chips is £8.50!!!! Nicer eateries will be found in the Westfield Shopping Mall. After the game expect to take 30 minutes to get to the station, either mainline or underground such will be the crowds.
"The People's Club"...... Classless. Where's Tobes when you want him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Ron must feel so at home
There's been talk of that for a while. Interesting if they do. Sullivan will tweet about it as if it's the equivalent of signing Ronaldo.
Kaspar Schmeichel signs a new 5 year contract with Leicester City: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36998659 Good for him
Yeah. Think I've said from way back that I would have loved to see him at Southampton. But fair enough. He chose the right club for him.
