So we remain only one result behind Manchester United. In February.

Granted, that result would need to be a loss to Palace combined with a two-goal Saints win at Upton Park, but stranger things have happened this year.

Shame Fulham couldn't hold on to their lead....would have made the relegation fight even more interesting. Still a decent result for them. Toon result excellent, but shame Arsenal couldn't beat United. Still great to be so close and only a +2 GD behind United. We can dream, can't we?

No..! Liverpool have a penalty..! Gerard Scores. Ah, I feel sorry for Fulham. That's cruel.

Since winning on Boxing Day, Newcastle have played eight PL games, winning just once and failing to score in any of the other seven. Have also been knocked out at home by Cardiff in the 3rd round of the Cup.

It's a shame that we've only managed to get two points ahead of him. If just one of those 2-2 draws vs Arsenal, Stoke and Sunderland during that time had been a win.

Liverpool still won't win the title (though I'd like them to). Their defence simply isn't good enough, and their squad is almost as thin as ours. But the late winner does at least just about keep them involved - and even better, all but ends any hope Utd had of a CL place (unless they go and win the thing this season - unlikely).

It's cruel for Fulham, but they have been the worst team this season. Their goal difference says it all. Kind of glad that Liverpool won. They deserve top 4 without question, and Spurs don't.
