Yet another abysmal refereeing decision, has he a had a brainstorm? Is he just wanting to be the centre of attention? Perhaps he fancies a charge of riot incitement? No, he is just not good enough.

It's not the referee's fault. It's the obscurity of the offside law. By the letter of the law, the correct call was made.
 
Just seen it.

Gotta change the rules. If you don't touch the ball, no offside. Keep it simple.

That is pretty much the rule now, the thing about interfering with an opponent is so obscure now we can basically ignore it. (it's a good rule, badly written). A really bemusing decision unfortunately.
