Oh dear Punch!

I didn't know the outcome beforehand, having been away all day, so I saw him on MOTD and thought, Come on, Punch and then he went and did something that David Beckham doesn't have to keep quiet about anymore. They've both missed penalties by a mile. One put his hand to his face in utter embarrassment and shame and the other looked at the pitch. I'll take honesty over style any day.

Only saw it on MotD the once, but wasn't Man U's first goal offside? The guy in front of the keeper for the initial cross looked way off and jumped for the ball. He missed it and the ball was headed back to him to score. Surely the first jump puts him offside, or maybe I didn't see it properly :-)

The old interfering with play rule. Very harsh on Newcastle, especially as the linesman didn't flag, but this site would have gone nuclear with the discussion if a goal was given against Saints with 3 players offside in front of the keeper.

Yet another abysmal refereeing decision, has he a had a brainstorm? Is he just wanting to be the centre of attention? Perhaps he fancies a charge of riot incitement? No, he is just not good enough.

Gotta change the rules. If you don't touch the ball, no offside. Keep it simple.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke (Pards).

Fair play to Sky for taking the risk and leaving Pardew audible when he spoke to the referee - I feared there was going to be a lot of "apologies for any industrial language you may have heard there, emotions running high".

Keen on a City win here for obvious reasons.
