Utd look awful at the back.

Bit surprising that they didn't make any sort of noise about acquiring a big-time center back. Weren't great defensively last year, either, and Vidic/Rio have more than a few miles on them.

Vidic is still fantastic, Rio on the other hand is not. I think the plan was to have Jones and Smalling replace them but we're sort of in a twilight zone where Rio (and possibly vidic) are a bit too old and Jones and Smalling aren't quite league winning standard yet.

Yeah I thought the same. Sunderland could have been 2 or 3 up by now.

Did you see Vidic for Sunderland's goal?

Vidic is still a very good player for the most part, but with the knee injuries he has suffered, he's not someone who should play every game.

Also Nani is ****ing ****e. Why did United give him a new contract?

It still amazes me how Man Utd were a minute away from winning the PL with CB choices of Jones, Smalling, Evans and Ferdinand. Vidic, had he not been injured, would have helped them win the league comfortably.

Heh, they should thank their lucky stars that Januzaj looks like he'll be a player, saving them from the pain that is starting Nani and Valencia.

My brother is a Saints fan but has a soft spot for Man Utd, and he just said "you know it's bad when you have more faith in Saints scoring than Utd!" <laugh>
