Apropos of nothing, I love the additional detail that the BBC game text appears to be adding. "Nikola Zigic (Birmingham City) header from a difficult angle on the right to the centre of the goal. Assisted by Chris Burke with a cross following a set piece situation." adds so much more than "Nikola Zigic scores a headed goal. Assisted by Chris Burke."

Even though it'll probably end in tears for them, I wish that more promoted teams were as aggressively insane as those managed by Ian Holloway. Worked for us...

May have to drop Van Persie if he doesn't play next match.

Heh, Palace already 2-0 down...there is a rational explanation for why more teams don't play like Palace, but it's entertaining, dammit.

I have Sturridge and Suarez in my dream team as well.

I have Sturridge (as my captain), but not Suarez. RvP is getting dropped for either Suarez/Lukaku after this week if he doesn't have a big game, though.

Yeah I'll drop him for Lukaku probably. I have Suarez as my captain and Sturridge as my vice captain.

Mostly entertaining for the other team I think.

It's not really down to their style of play, its more down to their players are just not good enough at this level. Get an early goal against them and heads drop.

That's part of the reason I like the way Holloway has set them up. Palace is never going to be able to sit back and hope for a smash-and-grab...their back four is an utter shambles. Better to at least push for goals, get tonked and go to pieces than to grind out comfortable 2-0 losses, especially if I'm forced to watch because the other matchups are less than inspiring.

Sounds like us this time last season...

Except that we had genuine quality in the squad. Palace really doesn't have much, which paradoxically is all the more reason to throw bodies forward...it's not like their forward line is going to score many operating isolated.

After 7 games, it may be slightly premature to make a judgement over a team, but Palace are going down. They are an extremely good Championship team, but no more than that. Never mind, they will be much stronger for it if they play their cards right and come back stronger, using those parachute payments wisely. I don't see what Holloway could do more with the squad he has, and January transfers will be way too late, in my opinion.

Sunderland 1 ManU 0..!
