Actually I should have said a freak score, not result. The result was entirely expected by most.
Anyway, unless the players were doing it deliberately then yes I think it was a freak score. To have lost by 3, 4 or 5, even 6 wouldn't have surprised many, but 8? We haven't lost by 8 for 100-odd years, we probably won't again for another 100. Not trying to defend anyone, they're all a shower of **** but I think the focus should be on why we lost, not by how many.
Focussing on why we lost has been done to death on this board over the past few games (and beyond).
You would 'hope' that all the analysing that is done by McCanns analysts would have realised this and found a solution. If not they could do worse and have a look on here, or listen to Burnsy or read Buckingham.
As it is the number of goals conceded last night has been on the cards for a while.
And as GLP says, wait for Cardiff who are still very much in the hunt for the Play Offs.
