anyone else off limitsIt's absolutely not right to make fun of transgender people.
I’m not gonna get into the ins and outs of the Scotland thing, and not suggesting you at all, but one of the big objections that is mentioned, including on here, against trans is the access to victims. I think today’s news has emphasised access really isn’t an obstacle.
With regards to what else you mentioned, I can only imagine what you must see through your work, and empathise.
It's absolutely not right to make fun of transgender people.
“Were UK patients with lung, breast, prostate, and bowel cancer treated under the German system, around 12,000 lives would be saved every year.
Under Belgium’s system, it would be 14.000

It's absolutely not right to make fun of transgender people.
But it's the proposed Scottish legislation that we were commenting on.
Like I’ve replied to Staines, one of the main objection to trans rights is safety of women, it’s been brought up on here numerous times, so does have a level of relevance.
I’m not going to get into the ins and outs of what has been proposed in Scotland for a number of reasons, firstly I haven’t gone through the entirety of what is being proposed so I’d be ill advised to do so.
I will however take the outrage in the media and on social media with a whole bucket of salt as I’m used to seeing a lot of false information when it comes to trans people and especially trans kids, and what can happen, what is involved for anything to happen and at what stages.
But with respect Wills, it was specifically the Scottish bill that was being discussed. And as I said, after reading about it I find it absolutely crazy.
And to your second comment, yeah some off it can be pretty horrific….and probably why I’ve got more respect for the OB now than I ever did before…..as on every occasion they have treated the victim with the utmost respect, concern and wanted to help. Sadly many, from my experience, won’t take that help (for reasons that are many).
That’s the part I find very frustrating
One of the if not the first comments on the issue was a tweet from Hate-Brewer, strongly implying a safety issue.
Like I mentioned to Col I’ve not read it all so won’t comment on the bill itself, my concern is to how it’s reported, like you’re more than aware if the media take their narrative, focus on a single or a couple of points twisting it, sometimes putting it out of context ,the genuine meaning can be lost. For instance calling strikers baby killers.
Read what is being suggested and then come back to us Wills. I’d be interested in your opinion
Well I’ve just read the overview and a bit of it, correct me if I’m wrong is it entirely to do with the application of officially changing gender? 3 months as living as that gender for over 18s and 6 months for 16/17s?
Personally I read it when it flashed up on my iPad…..i think it was Apple News, and gave a run down of what the bill actually proposed.
Now of course they might be lying but the points they showed seems pretty matter of fact and non-sensationalist
It was a patient that called me a “baby killer”….Kelv called me a “vile ****bag”……..not many “hero’s” being mentioned nowadays…..damn !!
anyone else off limits
Again we are getting in to the “what you can laugh at” debate……who chooses ?
But the aggressive transgender lobby is fair game, just as any other lobby group is.
if i come over again i will buy you a big cake superstainesPersonally I read it when it flashed up on my iPad…..i think it was Apple News, and gave a run down of what the bill actually proposed.

Do you not think that time scale might be a little short for a 16 year old to make that life changing decision ?
Ok my take is… kinda. So my first flippant thought was can you imagine a teenager having to fill in the paperwork for that at all let alone on a whim!! My next thought was .. well it’s not exactly difficult to reverse surely? We aren’t talking surgery or anything like that. All it is, is paperwork, maybe they’re going to get a bit of unnecessary admin to do although I suspect it would be extremely rare
I then had a thought about the trans kids I know or are kids of people I know, this is my experience alone, but all of them have been living as their identified gender for years and years. I’d say the average age to ‘come out’ is about 11 (again this is in my experience not a large sample) and each and every one of them have suffered .. because of non acceptance, lack of support and bullying from society, so it’s a big ****ing rock to put on your back, so not done lightly.
On face value I can see the concern, and maybe if I believed 16/17 year olds using this bill on a whim.. yeah, I suspect it unlikely though and those who would use this (remember it’s only paperwork so can be reversed) would be kids living their identified gender for many years.
Saying that I’d preferred if they’d said 16/17 year olds would have ‘needed’ 18 months, rather than 6, I’d hope that might appease the objections, however I suspect I’m being a touch optimistic there. I wouldn’t have a pop at either you or Col on this as I believe your concerns are genuine, but let’s face it there are others out there that hate trans peoples existence and no hoops they could jump through would ever be enough.
