Or even the overruling of a decision of the Scottish government to extend transgender rights.

Not sure which is worse...the heavy handed anti democracy ruling against the Scottish government.

Or.

The denying of transgender rights

Don't pretend you care about women being raped by a Met Police officer (or a millionaire influencer) if you're angry that Sturgeon's gender reform bill is to be vetoed. Sturgeon's law allows rapists to self-identify as trans women to get sent to women's prisons to rape again.

For the hard of understanding at the back, opposing Sturgeon's gender self ID law doesn't make me or anyone else "transphobic". You can empathise with people with gender dysphoria while still not wanting anyone to be allowed to self-ID and access the opposite sex's safe spaces.

My middle brother is a deputy head, I asked him if he was voting to strike? He told me the union he's a member of doesn't allow them to strike and anyway "nobody tells me what I can and can't do".
Thankfully he doesn't teach logic.

He seems to hate anyone who takes industrial action whatsoever. I guess we are all serfs to him
From key workers and heroes to selfish, greedy workers and zeros. This govt are on a self destruct mode, totally out of touch with working people. Can't wait for them to be resigned to the history books as those who brought Britain to its knees.

As I’ve made it absolutely clear Bob, I have no love of Labour as I only see them as a more Left Wing Tory party nowadays…..spouting the same old bollox and being hand in hand with the bosses.
However anything is better than this vile mob and even I would vote Labour if it got the Tories out……and then it’s on to the next battle

So you thought the ****bags in the ambulance service were the worst by leaving your old mum on the kitchen floor with her broken hip.
There's worse. 40,000 junior doctors say they will strike for 3 days in March and REFUSE to treat A&E patients.
The NHS is full of vile people.

Hope this poor excuse for a human being needs some urgent medical attention soon and gets the treatment he truly deserves - what a ****

I've yet to meet anyone up here who agrees with the new act, including my wife who works with Trans people every day. She hates Westminster, but is pleased they've jumped in on this. Even a large section.of the SNP membership are unhappy about this, including their own MSPs, but now Sturgeon is using this veto as a rallying call for the IndyRef mob

Absolutely the right decision Beth imo.
16 is far too young to be making those decisions and there are other legitimate concerns too.

Spot on.

Westminster wouldn't be intervening if the Scottish law had no adverse impact on England, Wales and NI. So for Wee Sturgie to argue that Westminster is interfering needlessly in Scottish affairs is a hollow argument which all but the most fervent SNP devotees are hopefully likely to accept.

It looks like it's going to end up in the High Court, so it's irrelevant as to how fervent an SNP supporter is if it's up to the judges to decide.

Heard about this guy, Jake Hanrahan, and his media company Popular Front on a podcast interview with James English.
Talked about these Anti-Fascist football hooligans fighting for Ukraine against Russia. Lots of interesting content and does a podcast as well so might give them a listen.

There are lots of concerns...so why not talk about them sensibly.

The reason they want 16 is the puberty issue...personally I think 18 is too early too ( Im a real woke).. and the reason is that the problems of not going through puberty in the sex that is driving your puberty is massive and potentially damaging.

But self identification is a very different matter.. You can self identify as anything you want..

This government is refusing to talk sensibly about this to anyone...and I am certainly not impressed with sections of the feminist community who are saying that trans rights are eroding women's rights..

Let's actually really worry about getting womens rights sorted in the first place....

It appears to be perfectly okay for men ( in this particularly case ..police officers) to act as misogynistic pigs and get away with it.

It is okay to pay women less than men in equivalent jobs.

And we all seem to worry about who is in our toilet, whether we are going to raped by a trans woman in jail ( my ploy on this issue is not to go to jail).

And there is a lot of fun to be had putting up photos of transgender people and making fun of them.

The relevance is the political capital that Surgeon clearly hopes to gain from the UK govt blocking her bill. She'll add it to her list of reasons for independence, but as I say, it's spurious

You cannot legally self identify as any gender you want. And it's a poor argument, Beth, to say the best protection against women being raped in jail by a sexual predator posing as a genuine transgender is not to be sent to jail. The government owes women in prison a duty of care to ensure they are not put in harm's way. There have been cases of women prisoners being raped by men pretending to be trans in prison.

Genuine question…..can you point me to any specific place of employment where women are paid less than men for doing the same job ? Surely that’s illegal.
