Now, if I were Starmer what with all the implosions going on in the Tories, the Mickey Beale is staying feel good factor, a virtually guaranteed mega majority come the inevitable election……I might be tempted to put applying to join the Single Market in my manifesto . Apparently a large majority of the electorate think it was a mistake to leave the EU, and even a majority of those who voted leave do as well. The ‘markets’ would love it and it would split the Tories still further, and isolate the remaining corbynista’s in his own shack of a party.

Not my personal choice, but he must be tempted…..

That's exactly what I think he should do. In fact, I think it's cowardly of him not to have done so already.

Reactions: QPR Oslo
Truss announcement incoming……she resigns or calls an election?

she’s gone

Tory leadership election to be done in a week ie MPs only you’d guess.

Then the new person either clings on or goes to the country

Successor to be chosen within a week, so no membership vote presumably.
On past form it’s Sunak’s if he stands then, but he might look at the economic situation, the car crash of a parliamentary party and think it’s a poisoned chalice.

Hunt not standing and he actually has seen the books.

Interesting to see if any of the candidates stand on the basis that they will hold an election. We won’t know perhaps, because this could all happen behind closed doors if only MPs get to vote. They might even find a way to avoid that.

Weird scenes inside the goldmine yet again.

Will the Tory apologists acknowledge what an utter ****ing shambles they voted for, condemning most of the country to a more difficult life for decades to come?
