“They are coming from France.
In the end if the French will not or cannot control those departures it is very difficult for us to turn them back”

put them all on the next ferry back to france

Not sure I am getting this
The migrants want to leave France ...and France are letting them.

Why stop illegal immigrants leaving your country???

We have regained control of our borders ...surely if we don't want them, and we control our borders it is up to us to stop them.

That is taking back control

Guess it suits the government to keep people who care about this stuff angry.

Brace yourself for the ‘France are reneging on an international convention that says refugees should claim asylum in their first safe haven country ’ comments, forgetting that these poor people have been through many ‘safe’ countries before they reach France, and they want to get to England because they speak a bit of the language and have friends/contacts/relations here. It’s not because of welfare/benefits, most EU countries have better than us. Also forgetting that the U.K. government thinks that an actual formal agreement like the NI protocol can be ignored, let alone a non binding ‘convention’.

Mate of mine has just been sent over there - he'll be freezing, he's just back from a two year post in Oz!
