Ah mate whenever I think of Sir Nicholas that clip comes to my head and makes me cry.
I’ve got his book on my kindle that I really should read.
If we had more Nicholas Wintons in the world it would be a far better place. He really is my all time hero

Not for everyone mate and it was a pretty complex procedure ….. he forged a lot of documents to get the kids out. The man was an angel in human form.
I cried when he died

He was a great man and philanthropist but to suggest, as Strolls original post does, that he was acting against government, equivalent to a modern day people trafficker, is nonsense. Winton was able to succeed with the aid of the British government, that was already operating a system of kindertransport for kids.

Compare this to the organised criminal Albanian and Iranian gangs that are making millions by sending (mostly) male economic migrants across the English Channel in flimsy boats that have already caused some deaths.

Well, they don't compare.

What the trafficking gangs do was already illegal. Why the need to remove the words 'and for gain' from the Bill?

I'm not familiar with this Bill, but presumably we all will be when it's debated in Parliament. A guess - asylum seekers must come into the country legally. The front door not the back door. If someone helps an asylum claimer to come in illegally (unlike Winton who did it legally), pushing in front of the queue, then that act will also be illegal.

So the RNLI would be breaking the law by rescuing asylum-seekers in trouble in the Channel.

**** knows why anyone would want to come over here nowadays, maybe theyve heard about all the food banks we have or just wanting a glimpse of the new royal yacht being built.
Especially when CLS stud has go up from £2.20 to £5.50 in just over a year!

Oh crap watch out Annaliese Dodds is doing the rounds today. <yikes>
no wonder Starmer is isolating.

I do agree with you……my comments were in honour of the man himself.

Maybe they come over for the free food, accommodation, generous handouts and free healthcare.
Not knocking them for it ‘cos if the shoe was on the other foot, I would be doing the exact same thing but let’s be honest here…..we as a country are offering something that attracts people to risk their lives to get over here.
