Totally agree.
People don't need to be like this. We can see the divisions caused by Brexit and many seem entrenched. I voted Brexit and I'm honest enough to say that some parts have not gone as well as expected. Take the NI protocol for example, which has been problematic.
Yet I never hear anyone from the remain side that says ‘okay I was wrong about that, fair play’. It's like they can't possible admit that they were wrong. Yes you will get the numpties who will keep saying ‘nothing is good’, but I want to hear it from the middle ground lot. Once we can all respect the result and understand that things will always change, then I think the healing will start. However when you see consistent scare stories and dribble in the Independent and Guardian and you have idiots like Adonis keeping talking bollox then things will be hard.

Most Remainers have accepted the position and moved on. There's an angry rump that haven't, and their feeling of powerlessness over it in part drives their ire.

Thanks for that intelligent and comprehensive reply.
I think it's because the intellectual Covid thread has died a death (sorry for wording) and we are getting a few on here trying to educate us with their long winded BS. I’m lost on their ‘Whitty humour’ (pun intended).

Yeah my wording was wrong... I meant the ‘fanatics’ who will never respect the result and will always look at the doom and gloom stories.

Most of my wider family were status quo and Remain. They are all now perfectly content with life outside the EU.

N Ireland was always going to be problematic. Even without Brexit! At present, they seem to be heading fast for more direct rule.

Agree about the product boycotting. Infantile. And I agree societal splits. Some extreme remainers' refusal to accept the result of the referndum has caused it, and the collapse of the Labour Party. These angry Woke people feel they have no chance to influence the way the country is run democratically, so have taken groups of the highly disgruntled.

The common theme running through Antifa/Woke is negativity. No platforming those whose views don't conform with narrow Woke creeds, banning certain literature, forcing people out of their jobs, tearing down statues and throwing them in the harbour and defacing others, screaming racism when there is none, and that all white people have guilt and all black people are victims, conducting a war with police, labelling patriotic people as nationalists, threatening advertisers of certain brands, trying to shame anyone white who steps out of the norm with cultural appropriation.

They're extremists and like the Puritans or accusers in witch trials, they will never consider compromise, so the split you speak of is permanent.
And that post highlights the exact problem i speak of. Straight away putting blame on one set of people, labelling them and causing division. <doh>. There really is no hope with attitudes like that.

Thanks for that intelligent and comprehensive reply.

It really wasn't worth any more than that, but since you ask...

Woke = Anti Racist
Antifa = Anti Fascist

Should I take it from your ridiculous rant that you're in favour of both racism and fascism?

The current divisions in society were created by the success of the worst elements of the Brexit campaign, which made it OK again to be racist. This government - egged on by the right-wing media - is keen to exploit and exacerbate these divisions to its advantage by conflating, as you do, a few 'extreme' actions (though not quite as extreme as the murder of Jo Cox) into some kind of revolutionary 'woke' movement that 'ordinary people' should be scared of.

It's a recognised fascist tactic.

You put it better, and more simply, than I just did.

Anti racist, anti fascist, it's easy to subvert under a virtue signalling banner. The Nazis were anti communist.

GB News has a range of views and is regulated by Ofcom. Not enough for WokeAntifa. They have to try to blackmail advertisers. They need to **** off and create their own, regulated channel, if the BBC is not reflecting their views. It's typically negative. We Don't Like Free Speech And We're Gonna Stop It.

PS I'm not aiming my views at anyone on this board, but generally

It's reasoned argument. I've given plenty of examples of WokeAntifa negativity.
Its a blame culture we live in and in my opinion, its people like you who are part of the problem. Dont take offence to that and i dont mean it in a nasty way but the wokeanfita as you choose to name them are no better/worse than a far right gammon as they may choose to call you.

I don't support any far right movement. I'm talking about every day Woke values and actions. What exactly are you complaining about re gammons? It would bs helpful if you could list them.

Ive not complained about any gammons so why would i list anything? Im talking about you blaming a certain set of people who dont represent your own views, labelling them and blaming them. Not my issues mate but yours.
