I think you're missing my point - very few brands owned by MNCs would actually post this as they are generally worried about potential fall out amongst consumers

It’s quite refreshing that they’d be allowed to retain some of that identity. I wish the brands I work on belonging to an equally faceless multinational could/would do the same. Ultimately it gets people talking about them and the sort of people who are going to make a point of boycotting it now have Arctic roll for dessert anyway.

The most vocal opponents of immigration seem to be immigrants themselves. Pull up the drawbridge!
I have no idea what the solution is, Strolls, but am I correct in thinking that once these immigrants are in the EU they’re effectively safe?
I have no issue with the U.K. taking in asylum seekers and economic migrants, but surely most would agree that there’s a proper way to do it rather than sweep them from their rubber dinghies mid-Channel?
Sure, those that exploit them in providing dangerous and illegal means to get to our shores need to be held to account, but are we really saying that this is nonetheless an acceptable way to take them in?
As I said, I don’t have a solution, but I don’t think the present state of affairs is acceptable either.
When B&J launched over here I was working for a group of brands including arch rivals Haagen Dazs and B&J was seen to be the potential market disrupter
The guys that started B&J were very principled and there was a lot of smirking when they sold out to Unilever. The brand plateau'd for a while until Unilever made the sensible choice to try to reposition it back to what it has been before they bought it
If they apply for asylum, they're safe, but banged up in what I understand to be pretty unpleasant camps until their cases are heard. If they turn up and try to disappear, they're illegal immigrants and can be deported if caught. No easy rides.
Yes, the traffickers should be brought to book, but I just think the whole thing is a massive red herring. This government has caused untold unnecessary deaths with its Covid policies, will bring massive additional economic problems with its Brexit fiasco, and is wallowing in sleaze with its handing out of contracts to Tory chums, but hey! - look at that dead cat that just landed on the table!

It really isn’t. Governments around the world have used immigrant scare stories like this forever to enrage their people over something other than whatever they don’t want them to focus on. It’s such a non-issue in the grand scheme of what else is happening right now but it’s always been effective.

I’m clearly not saying that so it’s a ****ing stupid question frankly.
I’m saying there are far bigger issues that should be front and centre of every news outlet. This is a convenient distraction that’s always there should the government wish to have people not focusing on something like today’s reporting of a massive GDP decline or the failure of track and trace.
Imagine if we had the highest excess deaths and the worst GDP decline simultaneously in Europe under a Labour government. A few dinghies crossing the channel would do well to make it into newspapers at all.

You forgot to mention the billions frittered away on contracts to companies linked to senior Tories. That’s a good one.
