He has always been wrapped up in his own universe anyway . Perfect example of self obsession that sadly has contributed to our own culture going the same way

Make no mistake he has made money out of being nothing more than a parasite on society

Another one that needs a good whack is that Mark Chapman on MOTD ... his comments are always full of fluff and he just feeds off other people’s words before stealing them for himself

It’s everywhere brothers
I said that

He knew there was a Royal baby. To me the only way anyone could reasonably justify his racist joke as being not racist but possibly anti-monarchist would be if he had posted a similar monkey picture at the time when William and Kate left hospital with their two. Have I lost count? I don't recall that happening but happy for someone to prove me wrong about that. His indignation and self-justification does him no credit at all.
It's ludicrous to think that a broadcaster (whether you love him or loathe him) with decades of experience behind him would deliberately post that picture with race being behind it's intent. It's just flabbergastingly thick skulled to consider it as such, given that he's been in the public eye(ish) for so long and there has been no hint of any racial prejudice up until now. I don't even particularly like the guy but I will never judge anyone or manipulate a view point in line with what the Daily Mail wants me to think. Strolls makes the point about there being history of a running gag about monkeys dressed as famous people which is probably relevant here. Baker says the post if anything was a comment on class, though I'm inclined to think very little thought went into it at all. He's not even disagreeing with the sacking, and rightly so as it was stupidly insensitive (but not intentionally so). I think the moral outrage mongers have got this one wrong.

Now that Baker has apologised fully and seems genuinely sorry, I have reconsidered my earlier comments.
I don't think he is a racist or was even trying to be racist with his awful tweet.
People on here have said that they didn't know about Meghan's pregnancy (Steelmonkey and Oslo), which, given the blanket news coverage and social media interest is nothing short of incredible, so I can just about accept that Baker didn't either.
However, this just demonstrates to me just how up his own arse he is.

He really SHOULD have been aware of what was in the news (still struggling to believe he didn't , but there it is).

Very magnanimous, Col. I'm sure Mr Baker will be very relieved.at your pronouncement.

The BBC pulled the HIGNFY programme tonight because having Heidi Allen (leader of Change UK) on a comedy programme would have broken editorial guidelines regarding the EU elections. This after Farage (leader of the Brexit party) was on QT last night for 23 thousandth time in living memory.

Yes. As were three other politicians who will be participating in the forthcoming election.

He's a prize tit for sure. It's such a strange time to be alive where people who you could reasonably argue are actually and intentionally racist like Farage, Trump, Tommy Robinson, Katie Hopkins etc are supported by the same people who were so outraged by the Baker incident.

Much the same could be said about Ken Livingstone. It is surprising how often someone well known lets slip something that (s)he has managed to keep quiet about because the view is offensive. Never mind me, was the Labour Party manipulating 'a view point in line with what the Daily Mail wants me to think' when it expelled him for what he said? Could be a horrible mistake based on ignorance of a number of well known facts. Believe that if you want. Those facts are Meghan Markle's very existence or heritage, the fact that she is the wife of Prince Harry and that they are the couple in the limelight who have just had a baby. Or are we simply to accept that a monkey gag happened to coincide with all those facts and he was blissfully unaware of all of them?

I knew she was pregnant
I new she was black (not that you would know from most of the photos)
I knew she was American
For anyone to say that they were unaware is hard to believe

For years many 'names' such as Chris Evans, Jonathan Ross, Russell Brand and Ricky Gervais have got away with varying levels of offensiveness simply because they are considered 'edgy' and are lauded by their 'luvvy' friends within the industry and their leftie supporters. On this occasion Baker's gaffe was so blatantly offensive and made far worse by his snide 'diseased minds' excuse that he basically sacked himself.

Those saying he isn't racist miss the point, the post in whatever context was offensive and if Baker took hours to realise it he's basically a liability to any broadcaster in this PC era. Now I read Plod are investigating it as a 'hate crime', proof, if needed, of what a crazy world social media is. He's finally properly apologised, been sacked and probably had his broadcasting career ended, that should be enough...

Here's something really deliberately racist...…..

Ridiculous statement.

Show some proof that the people being offended by Baker are Tommy Robinson supporters/racists.

Why make such a provocative and unsubstantiated claim?

Please name the people on here that you two appear to be accusing of being racist.

I'm saying that Farage is racist (his poster, which was a major factor in the referendum campaign, is clearly so) and you've already declared your intention to vote for him.
