Should the UK remain a part of the EU or leave?

Once again our part-time Mayor and full-time self-publicist is caught out blatantly lying about his (lack of) achievements. He has presided over the worst period of traffic chaos the city has ever seen, virtually every 'improvement' project has actually made traffic in that area far more congested and the cycle lanes which are empty for over 18 hours a day are seriously flawed in design and execution.

He has previously been caught lying about provision of affordable housing and housebuilding promises made in his manifesto and claims he has made since. A perfect example being his agreeing to drastically cut the amount of affordable housing in the Battersea Power Station regeneration project. The sad thing is with the furore over Brexit daily leading the news he is likely to get away with being re-elected due to his slick virtue-signalling social media team showing that even in these days of instant news you can fool most of the people all of the time...

Just listened to Hillary Benn who said "what part of the leave campaign said we would leave with a no deal"?
He was then asked what he would prefer... "I would vote remain in a second vote".
Well, Hillary what part of the once in a lifetime vote said "we would have a second vote"? <doh> ****wit.
Now Labour are saying on a ballot paper "May's deal' or "Remain"! <yikes>
So Labour are now betraying over 100 leave constiuancies... that will go down well.
May needs to call a GE so I and 17.4M can vote for the new Brexit party.

What new Brexit Party? Seriously, not heard of it, but then I am letting Brexit news wash over me uninvestigated a bit.

I definitely don’t understand Labours referendum position. but I have given it zero attention beyond hearing that it exists.

Farage is the only politician with a clear position. He wants to leave on WTO on 29 March, instead of dragging this thing out like death by a thousand cuts.

It's clear from what Starmer said this morning that Labour's position is a complete Clegg-like U turn on its manifesto and they want to go for Remain. I think this could cost Labour dearly in the next election outside London.

May looks like she will agree to no no-deal by way of an extension to March 29 which resolves nothing.

Farage will be the winner on all this, but of course, the way British politics is set up, its difficult for a new party to establish itself

Farage knows literally **** all other than how to say what idiots want to hear. He has absolutely no knowledge of how we’d go about “going WTO” as he’s never going to be the one in a position to actually sort any mess out.

Having read about his new party it seems it will only do anything if Brexit is delayed and the UK is part of the next European Parliamentary elections. He will stand in those, presumably so he can stay on the gravy chain and lap up the worship of those who think being rude to foreigners is funny and clever.

Re WTO, as Strolls has shown several times, that wasn’t Farage’s position in the referendum campaign, when he was keen on Norway. Didn’t he also support a second referendum on the negotiated deal? Fickle, fickle, fickle.....

Surely he should stand in the next British by election, for parliament or a local council, to demonstrate the level,of his support?

You're right, the Brexit Party will only come about if Brexit is not delivered. And I also agree with you that he has been openly rude to EU bureaucrats in the past and I disapprove of that as much as I disapprove of faceless Brussels bureaucrats.

However, he'll stand in the next GE if Brexit isn't delivered, and, personally, I'd vote for him because I'm getting increasingly disenchanted by the main political parties. Soopers comment that they're all a bunch of ****s has never been more true. I suspect I won't be alone in feeling like this. I wouldn't vote for UKIP however, because I do think this has become a racist party.

Incidentally, the May EU elections will be interesting. There's an increasing amount of evidence that voters on the Continent will return a large number of anti-EU politicians to the European Parliament.

Labour are doing exactly what they agreed to do at their last party conference on Brexit.

Farage gets a bad press because he has all media/remoaners ganging up on him. He has been spot on with his predictions so far. And if any of our intelligent posters want to research this, they would have to agree (although they probably wouldn't). He has more experience with how the EU works then just about anyone who is negotiating or the disgusting MP's that don't represent us. May should have got him to do the negotiating.

Corbyn has made yet another mistake. He only went down this route because of defections. Mann has just told Sky that the Labour voters will feel betrayed and that Labour will not be getting in to power anytime soon.

If May betrays the leavers today then she has lost 8 votes from my family and from talking to mates down the pub she will be losing many more. She will split and kill the party.

This leaves us all in a very strange place.
A new vote will kill democracy and the two main parties. It will also give rise to the far-right.
A no deal will probably not get through the house even though it will still be down to May, Cooper amendment or not. However under law it is the default position and nearly 500 MP's triggered Article 50 and knew the consequences... try explaining that to their voters?
Extension won't get us anywhere and is just a 'remainer' excuse to delay.
May's deal is dead in the water unless Cox gets something from the EU, but then it's still a crap deal and keeps us tied to the EU.

The whole thing has been a massive cock up. I blame May and her crap 'remainer' negotiations team. But I also blame the remoners for sabotaging the negotiations from day one.

We seriously just need to walk or we will kill democracy in this country

As if politics cannot get any lower, we have an ex Labour MP Fiona Onasalary coming out of prison today and able to vote tomorrow with an electronic tag on her leg and subject to a prison lag's curfew.

Corbyn is going to bring an amendment tomorrow proposing Labour's terms for Brexit (respecting the result of the referendum). This will almost certainly be defeated, because it's a Labour motion. Only when this has happened will they switch to supporting a further referendum to break the deadlock, in accordance with the party conference resolution. It's all very plain and logical.

The real danger to people's lives and future is the ERG insisting on a No Deal exit and May refusing to rule it out.

No they have been clear all along that we should leave the EU. They are more than happy to accept a free trade deal.
Unlike your lot, they respect a democratic vote.

Hardly, because they will only be proposing another referendum if their version of Brexit is voted down, and effectively only after a long, long, near 3 year process during which the Government's version of Brexit has been repeatedly voted down, no deal Brexit voted down, and other versions of Brexit not getting enough support in Parliament. Apart from simply cancelling Article 50, or a General Election being called, as McDonnell is saying the only way left open if no version of Leave is voted through in Parliament, is another people's vote, though I doubt that would get through Parliament either. I still think the most likely outcome is MayBot will bore her deal through eventually.
