Many important issues at home ignored because of this bollocks as well. Housing, care of the elderly, welfare/universal credit, climate change, the future of power generation, transport - roads and rail, surging crime to name but a few.
Was that not happening before Brexit?

The ONLY way the UK will get better terms from the EU is to head for a no-deal. And not under May's leadership, she may be dogged but she's also a weak negotiator. There's much about Trump I don't like, but if we had a leader with his balls in commercial dealings and negotiating skills, we'd resolve this impasse.

The Mail's Dan Hodges has just ripped May to bit's. He says her deal is "dead in the water and today's delay cements that". The other reporter says "it now looks like a second vote is the preferred option".
One MP has said "she is going back to Brussels and will be tough". <doh>

Agree Goldie we need to go for WTO. What a mess. She needs to resign and we need a strong leader.

One major problem with a second referendum is agreeing the wording. I don't think Parliament is capable of getting a consensus. Brexiteers want Remain off the paper - Remainers want no deal off the paper.

Interesting... MP's now saying that she is not the one to be taking this forward. She has upset many in her own party.
Apparently, she had to pull this because many cabinet ministers said they would quit. <yikes>

Yeah, I heard yesterday from one remain MP that it should be 1.May's deal 2. Remain 3.No deal.
Blair said Remain/Leave.
What is stupid with another vote is if it was 'leave again' we would still be in the same place as now. A second vote is just a remain 'second chance".

Perhaps she's going to announce her resignation... <bubbly>

but I doubt it...

Graham Brady just announced that there should be scope to renegotiate on the basis that the EU says they don't like the backstop and it may not be legal anyway

So who determines whether an issue is important ?

And general elections aren't deemed important ?

And what would be deemed an acceptable majority ?

Paul, sometimes I feel you post rubbish just to illicit a response ??

That is completely unworkable.

Yes general elections are important not as important as this vote however not intge sane keague
60/40 nothing less imo you keep going until the majority hits 60% that a true will of the people then
Don’t care what you feel to be frank
I post because I am passionate against Brexit and hope come the final time Brexiteers will be stopped from taking our country down

. . . and what happens if Remain win by a small margin, are the Leave voters just going to shrug their shoulders and accept the vote. Anyway, there be a lot more treachery by the remoaners before we get to that stage I reckon

The knives are out! MP's saying if she doesn't come up with a 'game changer' she will be history.
Brussels is adamant there will be no change.
Some Tories saying she will get a change.

In 20 minutes will be her most important speech... if it's the usual crap, expect her gone by end of week.

Thing is (Nigel Farage) said if it ever was remain that would be it. They would sign us up to a no way out deal... game over.

Yep, and I carefully explained months ago what I meant.
The EU were being completely intransigent (and still are) so I wanted us to walk away and tell them we were leaving without a deal. This would have brought us a decent deal as they would have caved in imo. They were putting out false stories, insulting our negotiators and refusing to give an inch. This made me angry and I found it very insulting. With this arrogance they deserved to be told to **** off.
I've since said that I would like to see a softish deal which at least gives something to the 48%.
It was always portrayed by the likes of you two, plus stroller that I wanted just a hard brexit deal. This wasn't ever the case. I would much prefer a good deal for all, but the way to achieve this was to play hard ball and make the EU believe we would walk away. Our remain political elite never intended to do this!

I think the EU has in fact acted in a very fair and honourable way. I do sincerely respect your views and truly understand the argument. I hold that we had too far to ever go it alone it’s 2019

I blamed the government and the UK then
I blame them both now
No point in saying how embarrassing this has been for the UK

Ruined creditably worldwide

All Tory MP's are saying May never listened to them re this deal. It's now doomed and she still wants to try and go back to Brussels? They want her gone.

I put a suggestion on here yesterday, but no one was interested (fair enough).

Remain cannot be on the ballot, and all of this transferable vote stuff will just end up with no real majority for anything. No deal v Norway.

I don't know what he said as I have put him on 30 days ignore but I can imagine.
I notice the Irish PM is having his 5 minutes of fame. It will be interesting to see how important he is when we leave and the EU collapses?

What?
If the EU collapses then it will be none of concern if Brexit goes ahead

You need to define Collapses ?

The Irish PM runs a truly brilliant friendly country
If not the friendliest in the world
Dublin imo has everything going for it could even equal London in our lifetime the potential is very much there imo

So I hope any Irish PM will be busy as the smart money and power is heading his way if Brexit happens

I heard a pollster on the radio over the weekend saying that there are people out there who think that No Deal means Remain (i.e No Brexit).
