I said I was staying away from commenting on this, but as the impossibility of pleasing everyone becomes more and more apparent...
If the government or Parliament is going to revoke A50 then they should have the balls to do it as our elected representatives, because they believe it's a bad idea no matter what the public said - and not run another referendum. I agree with Stan, we can't have a referendum with Remain as a choice. The people can't be asked to take the blame again for a decision the politicians should be making in the national interest - whichever way it goes.
The first referendum may have been flawed, possibly illegally-funded and certainly divisive, but it did give a result. I can just about tolerate the idea of a second referendum to find out how close or far away from the EU we want the country to end up, but even that is a bit late, don't you think? This should have been quickly after the first one and before we started discussing it with the EU27. But asking us if we'd like to Remain after all is Patliament getting the public to do their job. Something they've been pretty delinquent at for a while, IMHO.
I still can't see this ending well when people are serious about replacing the PM with people I would cross the road to avoid.
