Really? Didn't see him being portrayed in The Longest Day, junping off the landing craft onto the beaches at Normandy and storming the bunkers all by himself, or flying Spitfires over the battlefield.
Battle of Britain was 1940 unless my memory fails me, when Russia was still an ally of Germany. Without Churchill persistence and the bravery of the few we'd all be ****ed. Anyway brandy time now so the history lesson has to end for today. I'll leave the children to start squabbling again !
Do you honestly believe any of that would've actually taken place without Churchill ? Anyone else would've already surrendered before those events occurred.
I'm not bothered what you do pal, it's a debating board mostly about football. The day I care what you do instead of getting on with my life then I know I've become truly sad. There are far more important things to worry about than taking Umbridge with anyone on here !
I honestly believe that the bravery of the men on the battlefield gets overlooked when talking about the heroes of our wartime past.
From my point of ignorance on the whole topic, i find your views, opinions and links very interesting Staines. I always like to try keep an open mind on as much as possible in life. Good work pal
Of course I don’t want you to **** off and stop posting, and I’m sure you are 100% sincere in trying to show these complexities. It just reminded me of this routine. We can still have a laugh at each other and ourselves despite this miserable crap can’t we?
When you look closer at these sanctions the UK are imposing, it becomes more clear that they are half hearted with time given for the 'sanctioned' to move their monies elsewhere.
When some Tory non-entity was asked this morning why the UK was lagging so far behind the EU on sanctions, he said, 'Well it's not a competition'. Wait a minute, I thought we were 'leading the World' according your glorious leader?
