Look into what the Royals own and what those sites bring in.
Undoubtedly tourism plays a part too.
If you're anti Royal, you're anti Royal. Fair enough.
It wouldn't matter who owns the places tourists go to, they'd still go to them! Why not taxpayers?

For me what has been quite disturbing is the hate and spite directed at Meghan over all this from the daily mail types, it’s clear why they have issues with her.

This Is How Much the Royal Family Costs British Taxpayers

statement reveals the amount of the Sovereign Grant, or the money that the Queen receives annually from the Treasury for royal expenditures. The most recent Sovereign Grant amounted to 76.1 million British pounds, or more than $97 million. This amount represents the money that the royal family received between April 1, 2017, and March 31, 2018. Learn the net worth of each member of the royal family.
The hefty sum—over 30 million pounds more than the previous year’s grant—included an amount allocated specifically for renovating parts of Buckingham Palace. Renovation on the royal residence’s east wing will begin in spring 2019. According to royal.uk, 30.4 million pounds of the grant went towards “a major ten-year overhaul of essential building services including electrical wiring, pipework, boilers, and generators.”
Vanity Fair estimates that about 69 pence of each British taxpayer’s money went to funding the royal family in 2017-2018. This amount is equal to slightly less than one U.S. dollar (though the exact amount fluctuates). This a slight increase from the 2016-2017 year, where estimates found the amount to be 65 pence per taxpayer.
This doesn’t mean, though, that the royals spent all of that dough during the year. In fact, the Royal Household reported that the expenditure was only 47.4 million pounds. The superfluous pounds—28.7 million of them—went into the Sovereign Grant Reserve for use on future projects, including the Buckingham renovation. Of course, when you’re talking about tens of millions of pounds, to say that they “under-spent” is all relative.

I cannot lie......I wouldn’t kick her out of bed to get to Camilla......

Bizarre that there is so much hysteria about Brexit when, thundering down the tracks towards us, there is a Labour Government that really WOULD devastate our economy.

John McDonnell has confirmed Labour plans to delist from the London Stock Exchange any company that “fails” to address the climate change crisis.
In a speech to City leaders and hosted by lobbying group UK Finance, the shadow chancellor said that regulation was necessary to “divert investment away from fossil fuels”.
This effort required legislation to ensure that companies could be stripped of their London listings if necessary, he added.
“This means that when we delist companies that fail to meet environmental criteria from the London Stock Exchange, investors can be confident that their money is not going on making the world uninhabitable for their children,” Mr McDonnell said.
The effort...

What would Capt Mainwaring say! TV writer Daisy Goodwin blames Dad's Army for Brexit and wants the classic sitcom BANNED from our screens

It harks back to a previous time when Britain stood alone against a dire threat from the Continent.
But the gentle comedy of Dad's Army has been blamed for influencing our views on Brexit.
Author and TV producer Daisy Goodwin has called on the BBC to ban repeats of the wartime sitcom, which remains one of the nation's favourites even though it is half a century old.

Miss Goodwin, 57, who created the ITV drama series Victoria, said: 'If you really want to nail the BBC for influencing the nation's state of mind about Brexit, you might look at how often Dad's Army has been shown on BBC2.
'The BBC, if it wants to maintain its claim to impartiality, needs to retire the Home Guard (or send them on leave), because in the words of Private Frazer, 'We are all doomed!''

Author and TV producer Daisy Goodwin (pictured) has called on the BBC to ban repeats of the wartime sitcom, which remains one of the nation's favourites even though it is half a century old
Writing in Radio Times, Miss Goodwin accused the BBC of 'getting it wrong' in the Brexit debate, and suggested it was affecting public attitudes with the repeats, which she claimed attract ten times more viewers than Newsnight.
The sitcom, starring Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier and Clive Dunn as members of the Home Guard protecting the coast against the threat of a Nazi invasion, ran from 1968 to 1977.
Many of the 80 episodes are frequently repeated.
'Forget Game of Thrones, Dad's Army is the show that is embedded in this country's imagination,' Miss Goodwin wrote.
'The world of Dad's Army is a comforting place – it was reassuring during the mayhem of the three-day week and it's soothing to those of us who worry about the effects of a No Deal Brexit.
'But while David Davis may sound like Corporal Jones, Philip Hammond has Sergeant Wilson's hangdog look about him and there is more than a touch of wide-boy Walker to Boris Johnson, perhaps the Conservatives, indeed the whole nation, need to be reminded that we are not living in Walmington-on-Sea.
'Our current difficulties will not be resolved with a comic flourish and a jaunty burst of Bud Flanagan.

The thing is Col, how do they own such vast properties ?
The Queen owns Balmoral after it was left to her by her mother, whose family the Bowes-Lyons owned it for generations, she does NOT own Windsor castle nor Buckingham Palace, the Queen does not own the Crown Jewels, nor does she own any of the paintings, statues or other jewellery in the royal household, ( these are in fact owned by the country and loaned to the royal family IE The crown )the Queen pays income tax at the higher rate on all she earns and receives approx £80,000 000 a year in payment to keep all the royal households and staff, she also pays for all the other minor royals, Prince Charles and his Duchy of Cornwall pays millions in income tax each year, princes William and Harry have their own independent source of income, I could go on, but what’s the point, there are those republicans who would believe they are leeches and no amount of proof could deter them from their opinion, besides which I just can’t be arsed to argue.:emoticon-0103-cool:

At least 13,000 of our war heroes are homeless after leaving the military, a Sunday People probe reveals.
Military charities said the shameful figure is a record high and the Government is failing those who risk their lives for Queen and country.
They also issued a stark warning that the crisis deepens every month.
Les Standish, who won the Military Medal in the Falklands War, said: “The Government has let these people down. These men and women were willing to fight and lay down their lives for this country and the only help available to them is from charities.
“The Government needs to do more for them. It’s a disgrace.”
