I actually welcome protest but committed ones
At the end of the day example things like the climate change to me means action ... doing something in your power that makes a difference to the ones close to you
The bigger picture imo on this example subject means more taxes from government and more profit for the globals as they are now jumping on the band wagon

So the protesters imo on some subjects are moaning because it’s trendy to do so nothing more
They will never be happy imo
I have actioned lifestyle changes for my loved ones I cannot do it for everyone else plus I have zero confidence in our U.K. society doing anything of substance.

Bollocks to them they are the brainwashed mob imo. It’s hypocritical to recycle when all that is happening is our rubbish is shipped abroad

A disabled grandfather has been sacked by Asda for sharing a Billy Connolly sketch about religion on his Facebook page.
Till worker Brian Leach, 54, was let go by the supermarket after seven colleagues complained that the comments in the skit were anti-Islamic.
Following the complaint, the father-of-one deleted the post from May and wrote an apology to his bosses and colleagues.
But Mr Leach, from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was fired for gross misconduct on Wednesday after five years in the job for breaching the company's social media policy.

The video referred to in the post was Connolly's Religion is Over taken from his live stage act a number of years ago.
In the sketch, the comedian rails against religious followers of Christianity and Islam.
It includes the lines: 'Religion is over, lads, it's f***ing over. Take your Reformation, your Vatican, your f***ing Mecca, and f*** off.

Brian Leach shared a Facebook post of Billy Connolly quoting from the Scottish comedian's Religion is Over sketch.
In it, Connolly pokes fun at Christianity and Islam.
The Scot says: 'Religion is over, lads, it's f***ing over. Take your Reformation, your Vatican, your f***ing Mecca, and f*** off.
'Suicide f***ing bombing - now there's a bright idea. Every time there's a bang the world is a w***er short. F***ing idiots.'

Mr Leach, who suffers from epilepsy after a car crash as a child, said: 'I am overcome with disappointment that I have lost the job I love and the injustice of it all.
'I do regret posting it but we should be able to share comedy and I thought the line about suicide bombers was very funny.
'Anyway, Asda sells Billy Connolly books and DVDs so it seems like double standards to me.
'I realise it was poor judgement but it was just a joke and I didn't expect another colleague to post it to the entire Asian community.
'I thought I was going to end up with a knife in my back when I was stood at the back of the store on a quiet night.
'When I posted it I did not think much about it until I was hauled in. They showed me a screen shot of my post and asked me to explain myself.

Mr Leach shared this photo on Facebook today with the caption: 'Returning my locker key and company discount cards. Thought I would get a photo for the memories. All you had to do was give me a written warning!'
'They said seven people, all Asian as I understand it, had complained including the woman at head office who escalated the complaint.
'I thought I would get off with a final written warning but then I realised I was going. I am going to lodge an appeal to tomorrow.
'I don't want my job back after all that has happened. I just want them to admit I was unjustly dismissed.
'People were calling me a racist. There is no way I am a racist. Everyone is welcome at my till.'

The grandfather said he was 'feeling lost' without his job and has since gained employment at an ice cream parlour.
But he revealed today he would be appealing the decision.
An Asda spokesman said: 'We would never comment on individual circumstances.
'However, we do not tolerate any form of discrimination from colleagues or customers and take such behaviour extremely seriously.'

OK I'll bite, none of what you say accounts for the sheer hatred of the EU by some posters on here. Of course like all big organisations there are errors and mistakes made. That is inevitable, but this problem the leavers have with sovereignty is unique across Europe. Your points are opinions of the political process over the last forty years. As leavers keep telling us we are one of the largest economies in the world. How do you think that came about? Perhaps access to the largest free market area in the world might just have helped? Even a little bit? The EU must be developed and improved that's a given, but leaving is just causing unnecessary harm and suffering on our country for no good reason. All the good things that are going to happen that we were told in 2016 have now become us having to take some knocks and periods of tough times in order to make it through the next few years. It really is a complete and utter debacle that will hit the poorest and weak the hardest I just hope that we can stop this nonsense at the last minute!

ignoring all the stay in/get out arguments (we should get out, we had a vote, I lost) the reason people state their hatred of the EU so stridently and repetitively is that they are trying to convince themselves that they are right. They have too much invested to concede that there are arguments on both sides, the EU has to be painted as the epitome of evil, the harbinger of Armageddon, so all bad consequences of leaving can be written off as better than staying. Similarly with those who slag off Leave voters and big up the EU at every opportunity, it’s a personal insecurity thing. Could be that we leave and it’s not so bad. Some things might even be better. If we ever get some decent politicians...or have a revolution.

Good point about the protests now being trendy. When I started doing stuff with ‘Reclaim the Streets’ all we used to do was piss people off by taking over the roads, bringing in a massive sound system, taking loads of chemicals and raving for hours....oh happy times

  A suspected Islamic State militant from the UK, dubbed "Jihadi Jack", has told Sky News he regrets what he did and feels guilty for what he put his parents through.
  Speaking from the prison in Syria where he is being held by Kurdish authorities, Jack Letts urged mum Sally Lane, 57, and dad John Letts, 58, "not to give up".
  It is his first interview since his parents were found guilty of funding terrorism after they sent him cash.

  He added: "I understand I am being punished because of what I have done but my mother shouldn't be punished for that."
  He said: "They didn't do anything wrong. They sent me money to leave [Syria]. It's not like they were funding some sort of terrorist activity.
  "Two atheists being convicted for Islamic terrorism doesn't make much sense."
  Letts went on: "I was surprised they were convicted. They are definitely not Islamic fundamentalists. They are not even Muslims."
  He said he would "love to go home" but admitted it was far-fetched - adding that he had "no intention of blowing [British people] up".

  Ignoring repeated warnings their son may have joined IS in Syria, and despite being told by police three times not to send money, they tried to wire him more than £1,700.
  They were convicted at the Old Bailey on Friday of one terror count, for sending him £223 - but were spared jail with suspended sentences.

  They told the court they had wanted to help get their son out of danger in the war-ravaged country.
  But prosecutors said the couple had "turned a blind eye" to warnings by officers and charity workers that the cash could inadvertently fund terrorism, a crime under the Terrorism Act.
  They were found not guilty of a second terror charge of sending him a further £1,000 in December 2015, and the jury was undecided on a third charge relating to an attempt to send money in January the following year.
  Letts's mother, a former Oxfam fundraising officer, told how her life is "in ruins", while his father, an organic farmer, said their conviction for funding terrorism "destroys me".
  In a statement after the trial, they maintained they did "what any parent would do if they thought that their child's life was in danger".
  Lane has now told The Mail On Sunday that while she was "immensely pleased" not to be in prison, her life was "in ruins".
  She told the newspaper: "My career and my life are in ruins. The people I used to work with don't return my calls. Above all, Jack is still a prisoner."
  She said she thinks about her son, who is being held in northern Syria accused of being a member of IS, "every second of every day".
  John Letts told the paper: "Being found to have supported terrorism is a tremendous blow. It's going to have a huge impact. Inside, it destroys me."
  He added that he will "never give up" on his son.
  Meanwhile, chief executive of Active Change Foundation Hanif Qadir, who has previously tried to de-radicalise Jack Letts, told Sky News: "I would still say he poses a threat. But we can turn that threat into promise if we get a chance to work with the individual."

I'm sure I wrote earlier that the EU needs to change and reform it's dealings. The wholesale slagging off of EU officials in the British tabloids is really rather sad. It personalises arguments so that we see these villains out to get the proud Brits when really their just doing their job which is to protect the interests of their members!

Of course it’s gonna get personal, what do you expect....they are doing an extremely well paid job, earning more money than the likes of me will ever see in our lives......it’s as if you expect me to feel sorry for them ?
Trust me, I don’t and i won’t.

And if you think the EU is suddenly gonna start to reform then you really must be mad....as I’ve said in numerous occasions, those in charge don’t want reform ‘cos they get rich from the status quo....the same status quo that you’re willing to continue with.

I’d like to see money spent wisely and fairly.....the rich bastards take less pay, less perks, less pension.

Does anyone on here really think spending £150 million plus a year in moving the European Parliament from Brussels to Strasbourg for one day a month is spending money wisely ? Anyone ?
Some might say it’s a mere drop in the ocean but don’t forget, it’s all the little drips that eventually make the ocean.
