It wasn't so much the conceeding 2 from a winning position. It was the manner of that concession that hurts the most. Lucky to get a point in the end is my summary and gaining a point seems more like a loss tonight. After today we just absolutely know we are in deep **** even if we didn't before.

Absolutely it was like a loss, even their fans were celebrating. They thought the match had been lost!

How the mighty have fallen, there were people behind me in the Devonport end, getting quite excited that for a brief time Hereford actually sank below us,while we were ahead 2-0.Still I suppose it's all relative we are 92nd after all.

Evening folks, i was not able to attend yesterdays events or circus as my mates have said. Very quiet on the site.
Well have a little read of this i have been sent it will cheer you up. :emoticon-0116-evilg. Or should i post it on the joke thread!!!

    Unbelievable!!!!!
I bet this will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

Can you imagine working for a company that only has a little more than 635 employees, but, has the following employee statistics..

29 have been accused of spouse abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
9 have been accused of writing bad cheques
17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year

and collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in
    expenses!!!

    Which organisation is this?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons.

The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

What a bunch of crooks we have running our country

    - it says it all...

And just to top all that they probably have the best 'corporate' pension scheme in the country - whilst trying to ensure that everyone else has the worst possible!!

If you agree that this is an appalling state of affairs, please pass it on to everyone you know

Hi there Joe, long time no speak. Hope you & your family are doing well.

A lot of what you post there is indefensible but I get quite p1ssed off at some of the tabloid coverage, especially the frequent tripe about "so & so earns twice the prime Minister's salary".

The fact of the matter is that our politicians aren't paid enough - no, really, I'm perfectly serious, theis isn't inteded for the Joke thread.

An ordinary MP I think earns around £65k? That's about the same as a senior sales manager or a factory manager - BMW 5 series if he's lucky, top of the range Ford Mondeo if he's not, in a decent size business. Those MP's are writing our laws.

The PM gets I think around £140k. That's about the same as a reasonably senior divisional director [i.e. a department head reporting to an MD reporting to the CEO of a PLC i.e. 3 to 4 tiers below the real boss] He'd waste half his life arguing about his departmental budget but he also might have some fairly serious responsibilities for employment of his staff, H&S and the environment.

The PM is responsible for the national economy, national security and, if the time ever comes, pushing that button that finds out if Trident actually works.

A PLC director is probably in the £250k range - and those are guys running real businesses, not the scavengers in financial services on 5 to 10 times that.

I appreciate that isn't a populist message but my experience is that senior people in real industries earn their money through effort & ability. Bankers & the like definitely don't. By reference to the first group, politicians are grossly underpaid for the responsibilities they hold.

I'm going underground for a day or so now having made those comments - but I do strongly believe them to be true.

I'll quote my favourite Private Eye parody of the Telegraph reporting of the expenses scandal - "MP buys 20 bin liners and uses only 16". Exactly, so effing what?

I would suggest that to be an Member of Parliament is supposed to be an honour in itself.

A lot of MP's have other forms of income and their salary as an MP is quite often pocket money, plus the gravy train that they squeeze still out of expensives.

Take into account the millionaires that are in Parliament.........especially in the cabinet, who claim to understand how the rest of us are having to tighten our belts (hypocrisy at it's worst).

Their parliamentary position will often bring consultantcies and directorships plus retainer fees just to allow a company to put their name on their board of directors.

The old boys network looks after it's own and helps to get them elected...........my local MP had to be introduced to our Town before he was elected as a candidate for his party............maybe a little help from big brother was handy there.........Boris Johnson ..........wealth looking after wealth.

So notDistantGreen please excuse me if I don't pass the bucket around to help MP's just at the moment...........until they get off the gravy train.......and not even then.

Would you defend the ethics etc of the European MPs? These are people not only in charge of laws for a mere country but for an entire continent. These are the people who tell joe soap public they can only buy X amount of tobacco or drink in a free market area when having an "allowance" all of their own for example. Give me the old time politicians anytime over this current feckless lot. They are more interested in maintaining their own position than ever doing anything for the greater good. I have little time for any of them either at National or local level. The fact they get paid less than bankers does not win an argument that they are worth more but simply indicates that bankers are grossly overpaid and should get vastly less. I would also suggest that a CEO has sole responsibility overall whereas an MP including the PM has a collective responsibility. Since when did a PM resign following a cock up by one of his colleagues which he hadn't noticed. Never. What he does is weild the knife when forced to only because the public demands it and then tries to pretend it was his idea because he is shocked.

I can only cope with UK politics..........european politics I can't comprehend.........floating in oceans of money and perks we could never dream of.

Giving countries with no coastlines areas of fishing that have traditionally been our local waters......how the hell does that work........where do they keep their fishing fleet......where do they land their catch........all your fault sensible for talking about Europe.
