I think it should have been stopped after his opponent was put down twice....he was in no fit state to defend himself a third time. Remember a footballer would probably have been looked at by a medic before he'd be allowed to continue. Standing up does not always mean you are really there.

Agree Fran. He was beaten then.

The Rugby 7s has been immense. Let's hope it is retained for the next Olympics. I haven't watched any football but would I be wrong in thinking that it may be rather turgid. Perhaps it should be replaced with 5 aside football!! Really delighted for GBs divers, gymnasts and kayakers!!! It just goes to show what the country is capable when there is investment in sport .

Sevens is already guaranteed to be in Japan 2020.

It's the Olympics after Japan for which they must decide whether to retain it or not.

Looking forward to Track and Field starting tomorrow. Let's hope for some outstanding fast times on the track particularly in the men's 1,500m for men where I hope the Kenyans dominate. Prediction time Kenya gold in the 800m, 1500m, 3,000m steeplechase, bronze in the 5000m, nothing in the 10000m where the Ethiopians should really set about challenging Mo Farah to run a race well under 28 minutes.
