A possible 5 further gold medals today for GB: Justin Rose leading the golf into the final round; Nick Dempsey guaranteed at least a silver in the sailing; Andy Murray guaranteed at least a silver in the tennis final; Max Whitlock and Louis Smith possibly contending for gold and silver in the pommel horse; and a guaranteed gold and silver in the men's sprint cycling final between Jason Kenney and Callum Skinner. Super Sunday beckons!
Lily King came out with these sentiments due to a Russian swimmer who had served her time for a doping violation but had served her sentence, competed in her event so the interviewer asked her if she was aware that the US team had within its ranks athletes who had also violated WADA's code, so why was she citing the Russian swimmer? She came across as a bully!!!!
Lilly King is a clean swimmer who beat a drug cheat. Easy to see why (double) drug cheat Justin Gatlin doesn't quite understand.
It was the manner in which Lily King dissed her Russian opponent. King demeaned her opponent talking in such a manner. Contrast that with Serena Williams's words regarding Sharapova. Here Serena was very empathetic.
Fabulous Women's Marathon and a first ever gold in the event for Kenya!! Well done to all the participants!! Interesting to hear that those representing Bahrain were an ex-Ethiopian and two ex-Kenyans.!!!!
Statement from US Olympic Committee: According to four members of the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team (Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, Jimmy Feigen and Ryan Lochte), they left France House early Sunday morning in a taxi headed for the Olympic Village. Their taxi was stopped by individuals posing as armed police officers who demanded the athletes’ money and other personal belongings. All four athletes are safe and cooperating with authorities. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sp0jeq
Anyone know if Rose and Stenson finish level after the 18th do they have a play off or share the Gold? Edit - Ignore this - there'd be a play off
