http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/37038844 One of our girls into the 70 kg judo semi-finals (which guarantees a medal). She was losing and her French opponent had her pinned, then she turned her over and scored maximum points. Her opponent was the world champion and she had never beaten her before. Need some medals...I think we turned 4/5th positions into medals in London, but look like we are doing the reverse here. We apparently lead the table for 4th positions. Need a couple of golds to climb the table. Lots to go though.
Two GB men shooting off for a bronze in double trap. Steven Scott takes Bronze with 100% hits. Hard luck Tim Kneale
Today has been really good so far with the men's sevens and an excellent women's hockey match (GB vs Arg). Gotta say I'm surprised hockey has never really taken off as a mainstream sport in UK to rival cricket and rugby. Give each city a team and a little stadium and I'd go watch it for sure. EDIT: obviously it needs glamming up a bit and put on TV etc
I remember we used to do it for PE at school but we always thought it was crap because "it's for girls" etc. Sod that, it's a bruiser of a game.
Adding 7s was a rare good decision, was it me or did one of the refs not seem to know what was happening in the hockey though?
Like watching hockey, but hated playing it. Sweaty, cold, wet and painful....prayed for it to be rained off.
