Glad to see there are at least a few Scousers that have some integrity about them in this thread. The others just refuse to acknowledge the guy has serious mental issues that he keeps on doing this time after time.

What I find even more shocking is how all the West Ham fans are defending him. He's not even their player and yet so many West Ham fans think he did the right thing biting the Italian.

No integrity that bunch!

Can see Suarez getting a years ban from all forms of football. The fact he bit someone at the world cup, FIFA's pride and joy will go against him.

Blatter must be chuffed as this incident will take everyone's attention away from the fact he awarded the TV rights for Asia for the next two World Cups to his nephew, clearly a better choice than Sky, BBC and all those other amateurs.

So let's get this clear, you, like Shearer et al, can see FIFA re-writing their whole disciplinary structure and ignoring all precedence because of all the moral indignation? And you don't see any possible legal ramifications to retrospectively altering rules and maximum penalties to accommodate this?

This is thier best one yet.... I typically find they take way to long and often forget they delivered the punch first then mat it 5 mins long and drivel

This one is short and snappy....... Just like suarez

He's not as short as people seem to think.

I'll give you snappy, though.

I was thinking earlier in work how ridiculous this situation is. People calling for 2 year bans and such for a bite that didn't even draw blood. To put into perspective Ryan Shawcross got 3 games for breaking Aaron Ramsey's leg and affecting his career and confidence for 3 years.

Wonder how our overstretched casualty departments cope with all those potentially fatal arm and shoulder bites. Luckily they can turn away any head injuries caused by butts, punches and elbows, as they are obviously less life-threatening than dog, jaguar, wolverine and Uruguayan bites.

Interestingly, Jaguars have arguably the strongest bite of any mammal*. Unlike the rest of the 'big cats'** -- which kill using a bite to neck / face (suffocation) -- Jaguars crush the skulls of their prey. They obliterate the skulls of the crocodilians they find, pierce their canines through the heavy temporal skull bones of Tapirs, and even crack open large turtle shells. Indeed, the word 'Jaguar' is derived from the Native American word 'yaguar', which translates approximately as, 'he who kills with one leap'.

In short, a Jaguar bite is rarely non-fatal.

Here endeth CCC's National Geographic testification. <cheers>

*Although perhaps the Spotted Hyena might pip the Jaguar for bite force.
**The Jaguar isn't classified with the 'big cats' despite being similar in size to, but much stockier than, the Leopard.

Yes, I knew that. Jaguars are magnificent creatures, and you can only speculate who'd come off best in a fight with a tiger or a lion (although there was a programme on Discovery saying that a lion would beat a tiger because of its mane - the jag would surely just crush its ****ing skull!). Knew that about Hyenas too - even lions give them a wide berth. They can apparently crush the bones of even buffalos to get the marrow out of them - after the lions have caught and killed them in the first place though!

If you can't see the irony in that given the claims you made last summer.. still waiting for Henry to get out of that corner he painted himself into.<ok>

I never made any 'claims' you ted

I just gave my opinion on the likely outcome ( a view shared by plenty of your lot as well btw) and ended up being wrong. Big deal.

You're wrong virtually every time you post, so maybe the 'irony' of that was lost on you. ;)

His world cup may not be over even if hes banned.

If he appeals his ban then he plays the next game. If he appeals i hope they quadruple whatever ban he gets for being a lying scumbag.

Tobes turns every thread into a discussion about him <laugh> FFS.

If he appeals they'll hear it before Saturday.

His WC is definitely over.

Tobes, tell 'em about the Dallas court having precedence over the High Court because Hicks is from Texas....

Tbf, it was Socks though, and not yourself who tried to say that any debt run up by H&G would carry over on to the new owners. Point is though, peoples' wishful thinking overreaches themselves in these issues and they end up taking preposterous morally outraged stances that they think justifies their desired outcomes regardless of the actual rules and precedents of the body themselves.
